Very.co.uk BNPL iPhone Deal

Hi all,

I'm interested in buying a iPhone but as you might expect for someone on this forum I was trying to pay as little as possible, so after some searching I came across a deal on very.co.uk that gives 20% cash back but I'm wondering if it's too good to be true.

It seems to require a credit agreement in order to get the cash back, T&C's are:

1. Buy an Apple product £159+ on 12 months Buy Now Pay Later (excluding iPhone X).

2. By entering MDRMW in the promo code box at checkout your item will be put on 12 months Buy Now Pay Later automatically. We'll then credit 20% of the item price back to your account by 28th December 2017 or the dispatch date, whichever is later. We'll email you when we have applied the credit to your account.

Buy Now Pay Later allows you to delay payment for 12 months. The payment free period starts when you place your order. The interest is calculated from order date and will be added to your account after the end of the payment free period. Avoid interest by paying in full within the payment free period. Find out more in checkout. Delivery charges and other Financial Services products are not available on Buy Now Pay Later and will appear on your next statement.

Order must be placed online by 9pm on the final day of the promotion. If you return your item, the credit will be reversed. This can't be used in conjunction with other offers (entering a promo code apart from MDRMW in checkout will exclude you from this promotion). Offer live 15th November - 23rd November 2017.

Credit provided, subject to credit and account status by Shop Direct Finance Company Ltd. Aintree Innovation Centre, Park Lane, Netherton, Bootle L30 1SL. Over 18’s. Authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Now I've been saving up for a long while so I don't need to spread the costs although it doesn't hurt (besides the mark on the credit file) but it's the discount I'm after. So assuming I pay before the interest kicks in (12 months by the looks) I should make a saving compared to other offers. But I'm concerned it's too good to be true and that I'm likely to have issues down the road which will make me regret using purchasing form another retailer.

So what are people's experience with very.co.uk and specifically cash back offers such as these?
Thanks in advance, Stoo.

I bought my LG last year with Very. Opened an account just to get the deal, paid it off and took the 20%. No brainer for me!
  • Thanks flashg67, was it easy to get it paid off before the interest kicked in? As it sounds like you found it a simple process.
