Uber charged me £110 cleaning fee

Hi, I took an Uber home with a friend who had one too many to drink. She needed to throw up and about 500 meters away from home I asked the Uber to pull over and just drop us off. As far as I know she didn't throw up inside the cab at all. I received an email about 36 hours later saying Uber had charged me £110 cleaning fee on top of the fare charged. I've asked for pictures to which i received a photo of a seat with some dry white stains and a photo to a car matt with dirt all over it (it was raining heavily that night). If it was under £50 I would let it go but £110!!. I know people who have actually hurled in the back of a black cab and they were charged less. Is there anything I can do? Thanks.

Just a quick google search and I found this article from August 2017:
https://www.theguardian.com/money/2017/aug/27/uber-cleaning-bill-car-damage
Very interesting how the fee (£110) matches up, could possibly be a standard fee? Or the same driver?
Have you firstly followed Uber's internal complaints process?

That should be your first port of call.0 -
I followed Uber internal complaints process and received photographs of the so called damage. This is some sort of dry white stain where I guess she was sitting and a dirty car matt on the floor (looks like mud/ general dirt) It was raining heavily all evening. It doesn't make sense as far as I can see its definitely not any kind of bodily fluid.0

Have you checked the meta data on the photos?
If so does the date and time of the photos match up with the correct date?0 -
If someone threw up in the back of my car I'd want a lot more than £110!0

The issue is that she did not throw up in the car and the pictures the uber driver has supplied shows nothing but a dirty car mat with dirt trampled on it and a dry white stain on seat that is definitely not sick. Think the driver just wanted a early end to his shift.0

Not exactly the same scenario as yours but the OP of this thread did manage to get the cleaning fee refunded (see post #14)

If she did throw up in the car, then black cabs would charge the same amount. As would bog standard mini-cabs.
It’s not just about the cleaning charges - once that happens, the driver has lost any chance to continue to work that night. You cannot pick up passengers in a smelly, vomit stained car.
If she threw up, and she must know if she did, then it needs to be paid.
LinYou can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset.
