HSBC Express Machines / Coinstar

Options
...I was in a rush at HSBC the other day and after putting x amount of money into my account noticed a coin machine...

Am I right in thinking these machines will take a bag of coins, sort it and pay it into your account free of charge? Unlike the Coinstar machines at supermarkets?

...or will I still need to bag up x amount of 1p 2p 5p etc?

    1. This thread is years old why have you signed up to reply to it.
    2. It doesn't take 7%, neither does coinstar.

Because it irritates me. And coinstar takes 7.5%.

I'm confused. Are the HSBC ones free to use or not?

Why would it be 7% light?

Don't you think they'd notice problems when their machines didn't balance?
    What would William Shatner do?

What irritates you? People adding to 16 month old threads with perfectly valid points?
Oh.. and I didn't even mention coinstar.

    Or he can't count?

I doubt HSBC will charge to use the machines, they don't with cash, nor with cheques, nor with cash withdrawals.... and everyone else has said they don't charge.
