Proof of a fault with a second hand car

Hoping someone here may be able to help me out...
I'll start with the question in brief - how do I prove a fault with a used car in order to reject? It vibrates above 65 mph. AND would I do better to go via my credit card company after two weeks with no response?
More detail for anyone that wants it!
I'm one of the "merry" tribe of people who've had a problem with Evans Halshaw. I bought a car from them (using my credit card btw for the extra protection) just under a month ago and as I drove home it started to vibrate when it got to about 65mph. I had the wheel balancing checked and that did not fix it. I contacted EH on the 2nd day after purchase and there were a few phone calls etc., culminating in me sending them an email followed up by a recorded delivery letter offering them one chance to fix it if arranged within 14 days, else I would reject the car.
The fourteen days are now up with no response at all. I've just logged the issue with Resolver, I hadn't seen this before, asking for money back and giving the full history.
So my question is - I believe I need some proof of this fault else EH could just fix it when they get it back and pretend there was never a fault. I've heard an engineers report is expensive - do I need one, or is there another way to do this that'll work for this fault (the vibration above 65 mph)?
AND - would I do better to claim via my credit card company at this point? Can I do both in tandem?

What sort of vibration?
Have you had the wheel balancing checked?0 -
Thanks for replying societys child.
It feels like the whole car is shaking - noticeable to a passenger as well as the driver. You feel it through the seat and a bit through the steering wheel.
I had the wheel balancing checked as that was my first thought too (and if it was that it wasn't even worth taking it back to the dealer for the sake of £30) but unfortunately it wasn't.0 -
When you made the complaint is more important than what time it gets resolved for your rights as that determines whether you can reject or not. You complained the next day which is more than good enough.
See how it pans out with EH, contact the credit card company too and they may put pressure on. You'll only need an engineers report if they refuse to do anything about it.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. What did EH say over the phone about getting it booked in?0

Their service centre were due to call us and never have; I haven't heard a thing from them since I sent the confirmation emails. I haven't called them again as I want to keep everything in writing.0

If you are going to do that then you have accepted it is going to be a slow process.
Not that I like EH. I expect a car bought from there to have had nothing done to it since arriving. Even if they claim to have given it a service and MOT.
Just saying writing is all well and good but it is going to slow things down and your card will tell you to use the options open to you first.
Just use your mobile and record the call to have a trail.0 -

Could be the tyres.
I do appreciate the reply but to be honest, whatever it is, it's down to EH now, they've had long enough to resolve it if they wanted to and I'm not up for them taking weeks more to sort out the problem! From what I've heard I'd sort of rather not have it back anyway once it's been at the tender mercies of their servicing department.
I've had a response from them now via Resolver so hopeful of a prompt resolution but I'd value more input about the proof of fault if anyone has thoughts?0 -
surely if they fix it then its problem solved0
