Morning All,
My own mobile phone number is playing up.
When someone tries to ring me on my mob number which I have had for years, another person answers it and it isn't me, when my number is keyed in instead of being used from contacts the same thing happens, but when sending a message to me it is as normal.
This just seemed to happen out of the blue, I took sim card out and threatened it, no different.
Has my mob be attacked somehow, its a worry as my partner couldn't call me in an emergency, I am with Tesco mob.
HELP.

What do tesco mobile have to say about this ?0

Haven't
been to them yet this only happened yesterday.0 -
I vaguely recall hearing about a scam where a fraudster could contact a mobile company and claim that they had lost their sim, and would get a replacement, with very few security checks. But of course, it could just be an innocent mistake too.
Have you been receiving more "wrong number" calls than usual recently ?
Could you try phoning the number in question from another phone and just speak to the person that answers ..?0 -

The system won't allow two sims with the same mobile number to be on the network at the same time. If the op's number had, had a new sim issued to someone else then his sim would have stopped working at the same time the new sim went live.
It could be a porting error somewhere? You need to get Tesco mobile to have the 'network support team' look into it.0 -
Get onto Tesco to look into it.0

if you ring someone (say, your own phone or a friends mobile) then what number shows up on the other end - is it your number that appears to be making the call?smudger1946 wrote: »...I took sim card out and threatened it, no different.0

Could you have accidentally set a call divert? This would mean that phonecalls were forwarded but SMS would arrive as normal.
To cancel any such divert, dial ##21# on your mobile and press the call button.0 -
When sending a message it goes to the person I sent it to but it comes up with different number than mine.
Will look into the call divert thing.0 -
Your situation could have been resolved by now .
I cant understand why you havent called the carrier :huh:0 -
Will be going into Tesco on the morrow to sort it out.0
