Morning all
Thank you all for your support. Neither of us slept very well last night, but I feel a bit calmer this morning. Still irked though.
I'm not going anywhere today, although Mr Fix It has been to his surgery to put in his prescription, ready for pick up on Wednesday.
We are going Xmas food shopping tomorrow as I want to spend the Tes*o vouchers that I have saved up, so we shall make a list today. Unfortunately we are taking Dad with us:(. Made this arrangement before yesterday so I hope he's in a better place. It will be Turkeygate not Bananagate eh Nelski :rotfl::rotfl:. Keep your eye on the news in case someone gets hit by a frozen turkey .
I hope to finish Dad's jacket today apparently it's still too long in the arms , any shorter and it would be classed as a 3 quarter sleeve, but I'm going with his wishes, as he seems to think he knows best.
Anyway enough negative talk, life is too short for that. The DW is on, so I will have another coffee and get stuck into the list. Also have to pay the Gas bill today, but as it's online it won't take long to do.
Thanks once again and hope everyone has a good day. Hugs back at you all.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Morning all
Wet and cold here today. DH has taken DD and DGS to the supermarket. I will get soup on for lunch in a bit as that has been requested.
Not much to report today, I did the bathroom and kitchen yesterday and DS's washing.
Holly H we love stolen too so will try out M&S. Thanks for the tip.
LW sorry must have missed that Mr LW has to see a consultant. Hope everything goes well and try not to worry hun.
Well hugs and spoons all round. Keep warm folks.

My mother had what I call ostrich complex - if she put her fingers in her ears and hummed loudly, whatever was wrong would cease to be. I'm reliably informed she was in denial about being pregnant til the day I was actually born!
I severed all contact in 2002 and haven't looked back.
Anyways, you rant away whenever the need arises; there's loads here will fully understand your frustration and anger.Gintotmelinda wrote: »LW sorry must have missed that Mr LW has to see a consultant. Afternoon ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
NW I know how you feel, my mother was the pits........praised every bodies kids to the skies but never her own grandchildren, she would ring me in the middle of the night and tell me she couldn't get her breath, she was dying and the front door was locked so no one could get in.....I lived 30 miles away. Would break every speed limit on earth and arrive to find her standing on the door step asking what took me so long!! If anyone went to visit her, the first question on her lips was what have you come for? The second they were in the door, it was moan, moan, moan, no one ever went to see her, (why was she surprised!!) She drove me nuts...... I could not do right for doing wrong.........eventually the worm turned, I left her to her brother to sort out, she helped to ruin my marriage and drove my children to refuse to go and see her.
I could write screeds, but will not bore you all.
Tired this morning, guess its Saturday catching up on me. OH is out finishing clearing the shed ready for the chaps to demolish it and erect the new one. I will be glad when its finished and everything is back. All we have to do then is treat it with preservative........
Sausage, mash and beans for supper, some of the crumble left for dessert, possibly with custard.0 -
LW thankyou.
On the subject of Mr LW cough. I had a cough and real croaky voice last year. Went to my GP and he sent me straight away for an ECG, X Rays and the test for asthma ( can't remember the name for it ). Anyway my lungs are 5 years older than my real age but not enough to give me any medical problems apparently. Long story short, it was put down to stress from you know who and Mr Fix It's cancer. Perhaps you could persuade your DH to see another doctor or at least ask for a second opinion. Please feel free to tell me to mind my own beeswax if you want. I shall not be offended.
Csarina thanks for your story. It's helpful to know that others are going/gone through the same type of thing. I wish I could leave him alone, but I have no siblings and he has already upset my DD so much that she no longer calls or visits him at his house. When he is told about his " shortcomings " he shrugs and dismisses it. He doesn't seem to care that I and Mr Fix It are all he has.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -

Ill raise you one fast drawn banana for a turkeyMorning all,
Me too. I'm a celebrity is the only reality tv programme i watch and look forward to it every year. However, i am ashamed to say, i only knew of 2 of the celebrities that have gone in this year. I am trying to work out if its because of my age or whether they arent actually celebrities
.
Know what you mean ....I think I love Boris' Dad so naive to the real world but at least he chucks himself in:D0 -

I'm cross with the GP surgery, I think he should've been referred long ago, but they've faffed around - hey I'm going to shut up, cos I shall get cross, and I don't have the energy to spare for that.
No continuation of care thats the problem...
Keep your fingers crossed for me peeps. Grump has got a job 200 miles away in not so sunny Wales....It will be an 8 oclock start for him in the morning and fingers crossed it will keep him working till February.:TThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. Judi - great news for your OH!
The very best stollen is from the former East Germany, I love the version with marzipan but I know that others prefer the plain one.
My cleaner arrived and then very promptly had to leave as she got a call from school about her son. I went into the office and did a pile of work in the warmth. So many of my students haven't followed the instructions in my email which means more work for me which I'll not be doing, I've batted it all back to them to sort out. First year undergraduates have to do better if they are to last the course.
Now it's time for relaxing, no more fretting or ranting. A friend sent me a couple of bird feeder 'things' which I need to put together, hope there are instructions. :rotfl:0
