  • Also factor in the fact with a train you can get on, sit down & let someone else do the driving.

Yes, Bus is cheapest option but would be anywhere from 6-7 hrs for the end to end journey - haven't discounted it yet though. I am working the day we start - so bit difficult.

Where do you need to travel to/from and at what time?
There are some National Express coaches between Victoria Coach Station direct(no changes needed) to Manchester Airport in 4hrs 40mins and no lugging cases around once they're on board, but the times might not suit...

Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

I needed to book one way travel back from Manchester to London for New Years Day and found it was much cheaper to go from Manchester to Sheffield and then from Sheffield to London. It saved us I think about £70.

    Was that via train?

Yes, when I looked at the times - it was a bus with about 5 hrs journey time, add that the transfers upto Victoria and some gap it will take about 6-7 hrs to overall journey.
  • This is exactly what I needed, I can not find any that match my current requirements but I am sure this will save me a tidy sum in future. Thanks.

    Keep checking, it changes often.
  • I have not rented a car before, never had a chance. Looking at the reviews online they are bad for every single one of them, it is too much hassle for a short trip - should I just stick to train?
