Has Argos Returns Policy Changed?
Comments
-
Argos' returns policy has changed significantly over the years. This is from 1984:

At that time they asked only that returned items were undamaged, with original wrapping and a receipt. And the guarantee applied to "everything" they sold.
You can view previous Argos catalogues at https://issuu.com/search?q=argos%20catalogue.

That was 33 years ago!A lot of things have changed drastically in that time - including customers!0 -

Probably the same as what Amazon do with the hundreds (thousands?) of returns they get on a weekly basis.0 -

Exactly, or the Argos equivalent. I have never had a deduction made by Amazon for returning used items.0 -

And one day you might find that you no longer have an Amazon account. Plenty of threads on here where customers have had their accounts closed for a high return rate/ abuse of their returns policy - and this can extend to anyone at the same address with an account.0 -
I would take it back to a different Argos store if possible.
Don't mention if asked if it has been 'used' just be honest & say it is too heavy.
I have found & read on here that different stores have different attitudes to returns.0 -

Just be honest? What part of honesty are you choosing to take?0
