I have input the.figures online and am surprised that it accepted them without any query !!
It probably won't since it's just going into a file on their system.

It might get flagged if it's more than a one off. (i.e. you have 3 months of minus readings!)
Otherwise they would "Guestimate" the real figures till you enter in a new reading...

can believe how civil this section is! if it was in the Technical section there would be at least 1 fart or eating much beans? joke by now... ;) lol

Check this meter's reading every day for a week to show if it was a mis-read or a fault.

The display on a Digital meter is not powered by the gas passing through it, but by a battery - The circuitry can go rogue - It's rare but it does happen

I'd agree with the above look daily for a few days (as previous) and ideally if you can grab a quick pic each day too.

At least if nothing else you have something you can compare easily plus if there is any form of depute you have at least "something to show" , unsure if it would be acceptable though but it is something I guess.

If it was mine after the 'second day pic' if I thought it was reading back/counting down I'd call them and tell them, then as long as they are completely aware of it, its up to them to send someone out to read it or have a look to see what's going on. :)

Don't be so picky - It is pretty obvious what I meant !!
    Point a.
    Point b.
    Point c.

Yes but if you read your meter like you wrote that then no wonder you think it's going backwards !!

    Update :
I have taken another reading - 24 hours after the last and have discovered that the meter IS moving forwards - We had a gas fire running for 10 hours, yesterday on 1 bar - which I am assuming is approx 1 unit per hour - the whole of that 10 hours only moved the reading on 1 unit - so there IS something amiss with the meter
I have taken photos and have informed Scottish Power (to cover my back !)

update : I have checked using SP's calorific convertor and 1 unit on the meter - corresponds to 31.5 kWh - so this is probably accurate !

Its more useful to comment on advice or help on the subject the OP posted rather than come on here nit picking over typos /grammar etc.
Try Ebay`s listing s if that is what floats your boat, you will have a lot more fun

Why would it be one unit an hour? That's 11.2 kWh if your gas meter's metric or 30 kWh if its imperial. That's a lot of heat. 1 unit in ten hours sounds realistic imho.
