thanks for the informative reply, intend going to a specialist place for alignment check, spend money now to save in the long run.
The present front tyres were £83 each so worth trying to make them last, the rears are larger size so unable to move them to the front0 -
Jack it up from the front so both front wheels are off the ground and swap NS and OS over. You'll need a proper trolley jack though not the little scissor jack you find with the spare wheel. Although that might work also who knows.0

So that's a no-no then.0 -

Really??
If they weren't then it's sound advice for anyone else.0 -
Recently bought brand new wheels for my Mini off ebay. Over £1,000 all in so was happy to pay a few quid to get them fitted without getting my hands dirty.
Popped in to my local, independent tyre shop - Guildford Tyre Company just as they opened.
All the staff were standing around doing nothing, and one chap offered to do them for free - he was amazed when I tried to pay him.
Took him about five minutes to swap all four using a gun and double axle ramp.0 -
Most inde garage places will do it for a few pounds but it's finding the sweet spot. A well recommended garage will be busy and won't entertain it unless you come back a week on Tuesday at 5pm. A quiet garage might see you coming and hence charge you more or try and get extra work out of you while the car is up on the ramp.0

Yeah it's no time at all to swap wheels round. I hope you at least left a fiver on the desk.
The OP has directional tyres, so they'll need to take both front wheels off, remove tyre from wheel, flip round and put back on wheel, then re-balance.
Goes from a few minutes to maybe 10-15.
More importantly though, OP, you need to get to the bottom of the uneven wear or you're going to be spending a fortune moving tyres around.0
