    Afternoon,

So ive just seen the great news on the MSE email that i will be getting an extra £60 in my pay packet this month and then £10 each month until April coz of the 10p tax rise that happened ages ago. But it actually looks like tones of people will be getting it as its if you earn from £6,035 - £40,835!!
    :T :T :T :T

Done another boots shop today to use my last vouchers

    x2 no7 glossy hair
    x1 TD cream
    x1 Ruby&mille foundation sponges
    x1 mitchum deodrant

    15p to pay:D

Ive been feeling really stressed today, im really confused in which way to take my life now being out of debt. Do we set a date to get married now debt free? Do we rent a place while the market is bad? Do we do shared ownership? Should we plan a family?:confused:

Woohooo i am glad you clarified the people that will be getting it, that means i should be debt free 1st October :D

On your feeling stressed i wouldn't recommend shared ownership right now as house prices are just going to fall and fall so the more you can save by the end of next year you could get a nice house, the problem with shared ownership is the 2 bedroom rule, at least for me anyway.

Not sure about these new loans they will be doing that are interest free though, i know they are only new build only though, its something i might consider once i know more about it.

You need to go with whatever your instincts are telling you too hun, i really want to try and get pregnant early 2010 so to me i am desperate to buy a house, if you start renting it will be a lot harder for you to save but you have to do what is best for you.

    Hi Maria,

They don't have windows, but it can be installed on it. I have firefox and windows installed on my macbook.

Brilliant shop for you at boots, you always do well well. I always end up paying more than a fiver per shop lol.

Thats a tricky question about what to do next. Its hard because of the current property situation. I guess now your debt free you just want to move out and start your life with your OH.

Brilliant news about the tax rebate isn't it, its going to be great to have an extra £60 this month and an extra £10 every month until April. It will come in handy with Christmas etc.

    xx

    Evening girls,:p

The tax news is fab for all of us! It will deffo come in handy for me as i have to pay car tax this month £110 for 6 months i think it is, i may buy a year this time though £185!

Shared Ownership was the very last thing we would want to do. We would prefer Homebuy but they keep running out of funds so ive read and are useless.
I just dont think we will ever be able to get a mortgage enough for a one bedroom flat in our area on our wages. Obviously i really need to get more hours or a new job. Even if i earned £15k a year we could still only borrow £115k which can only buy bedsits or flats in awful areas around here at the mo.
So the only way for us to have a place at present is rent or shared ownership.
Your right Hayley thats exactly how we feel, we just want to move out and start our lives together. We're getting way to old to be with our parents! :o

Im just struggling to see how we could ever move out and start a family....we cant even afford to move out with 2 wages lso how would we manage on 1 wage if we had a baby!

    Hey Maria

Just a thought to your message about managing on one wage with a baby, although its something I am sure you have thought about anyway.

With the baby you would get child benefit, at least some tax credits (depending on OH wages obviously) and I don't know how long you have been in your job but there is also maternity pay or the Statutory Maternity Pay (when you haven't worked there long enough and other things) that would all help.

Also if you did choose the renting route you may be able to get help with housing benefit etc if income was that low.

Just a few thoughts, probably not much help but I thought i'd let 'em out anyway :rotfl:

I'm on my own with my little boy, which obviously wasn't the plan originally, but I get quite a lot of help, and if you were low income you would definitely qualify for something. There is a site mentioned on here called entitled2.co.uk or something along those lines where you could plug some figures in and get a rough idea along the lines of your OH's wages anyway.

    Thank you Debz66,:D

I have looked at benefits etc you can get when you have a child, but not properly just a quick glance. I may go through things properly and add them up, im sure we could manage. But its just so scarey whats the best route to take with credit crunch on!?

I know exactly how you feel about 1 wage, me and Nick just manage now and we bring home £32500 a year between us, god knows how we would survive on 1 wage especially as i want be to stay at home mum if possible for first couple years and definately not work full time.

But we (me and you) managed being in debt taking a big chunk of our wages so i am sure we can handle it.

When my little boy's dad and I were together I worked nights so that I could be at home with him in the day, so he got to stay home with me for the first two years. It was really hard, as although I only did three nights a week mostly I was so tired and only got an hours sleep in the day when he napped, but I don't regret it for him.

He has been at nursery part time since I moved back to Cornwall when we split up so from when he was two, but think by that age it does him good anyway and he loves it! He especially likes the ladies :rotfl:

I definitely think it would have been nicer to have been able to do it without always being so tired though, as made me pretty teasy some days :o

I too would love to be a stay at home mum for the first year at least, but my OH thinks its coz i want to be lazy and not go to work! he thinks i would have all the fun while he would have to work!:confused:Fun!? doing all housework, looking after baby, washing etc! Bloody cheek! I think i would leave my job and do a evening cleaning job 2 hours every evening. Not only for the money but to get me out the house too. As i have friends that go crazy watching kids tv & get very lonely as they have no adult conversation.

Debzz66- that must of been very hard on you, looking after your son all day then night work all night! Im not sure i could do that, actually i dont think i could do a night shift without a baby either! :rotfl:

    Morning all,

Wow the weather actually looks dry and bright outside so far! Which is good as we're planning on going to watch lawnmower racing later!:rotfl: Where its being held there's a maize maze to walk round and get lost, i have a 2 for 1 voucher so it will only be £2.50 each to get in.:D

I got my £5 amazon voucher from doing the Oasis survey the other day, i added it to my Amazon voucher account and now have £20. But theres nothing i want at mo. So im saving them in here for now.

As soon as my wages go in on monday i will transfer £50 into my ISA finally making it upto £1000. Yay.

My Quidco payment went in no problem this week but my WPT payment hasnt turned up in my account yet. They sent it on 2nd Sep so im hoping it will turn up soon.

Nothing much esle to report really, i have a few things i would like to put on ebay but i dont want to pay there new fees! Most is car stuff so i might pop them on the for sale section of a 206 forum i belong too. No fee's then apart from Paypal.:D
