Not the greatest of days today for saving. I did a little spending....asda had loads of sale items.:o

    Spent

Venus breeze razor value pack with 6 heads £4.90.....was £10
    Chewable vitamin x2 50p was £1.50
Sure deodrant large can x2 £2.40 was £4.80

Then i used £3.00 worth off coupons;)

    Total spend £7.80:o

THEN.......i went to Boots and brought x3 Dove bath creme, half price £1.24 each. But brought then with points on my advantage card so no spend!;)

I seem to be failing at my £5 a-day challenge, so far i have only made £1.50 from a survey:confused:

I went to apply for a free NVQ course, i asked my dad if he minded me doing it as this is his PC i use. Thinking he wouldnt mind as i pay £5 towards the internet and he said NO! He said im on here too much as it is, and its a con its not a real course. I showed him its government funded but he wasnt having it. My dad is very unreasonable at times. I wish i could afford my own laptop. Im very into the idea of doing a course, im going to look into learn direct and the local libarary and part time college courses.

The only cerficates i have are touch typing, food hygiene, and fire & safety if that counts. It would be good to get some NVQ's on my CV.;)

  • What NVQ did you want to do? I was wondering if you could do something that is a progression in the work you do already and see if they would fund it and you could do it work based? You say you are a housekeeper? Is that in a hotel?

First course i wanted to do was Essential IT Skills @ Work NQV,as on my CV all i can put is GSCE grade B in I.T, 3 word processing cerfiticates and that i have very good knowledge of microsoft. Where as if i got this i could put i have an NVQ in IT skills which sounds a bit better!:p

then i was going to go onto

    OCR Level 1 New CLAiT
    OCR Level 2 CLAiT Plus

Then maybe some more if there any good!
Yes im a Housekeeper in a hotel....They all say im wasted there, which i know is true!

  • That sounds like a plan well done you, had you been thinking about it before I jogged your memory about study coz you've decided and are organised with a plan quickly?... Maybe you could work in the office at the hotel and use your IT skills and get experience while training or maybe reception?

No hadnt thought of online courses before as didnt think they did 'real qualifications' online.
If only i could work in office area of hotel! At my hotel its a large 'family run' hotel. And all the family have the good jobs like in the office and reception. All thats left for us outsiders of the family is kitchen and housekeeping.Oh and security but im too tiny for that!:rotfl:

    hi,

I brought 5 copies of the Sun today! As it had £1 off coupons in it.So brought 5 copies for 20p each and now have a £4 profit.:D My local Asda takes any coupons even if you dont buy item. ;)

Also found 14p in rooms from work! And £4.03 paid out from Quidco.
So £8.17 to add to todays make £5 a day :j

Cough has gone finally, now have a bit of a cold though! Not a bad one though.

We were told at work today that our wages now have to be paid into the a bank account instead of cash. I only had it paid in cash as they gave it out on a friday, but now wages wont go in bank until tuesdays. Oh well, it may stop me spending even more!
