PCN reduced tocover admin costs but with the threats of increasing despite appeal

I received a 'Charge notice' a couple of weeks ago and promtply made an appeal.
I received a responce.
This is the exact wording: -

Dear Mx *********
Thank you for your appeal received on [DATE] in response tot he above PCN, the contents of which have been noted.
We have now reviewed your specific case and considered the evidence collected by our ANPR System at teh time the PCN was issued as well as teh evidence you have supplied with your appeal.
After checking our records, we can see that you paid, but as you pointed out, the incorrect VRM had been entered into the JustPark application. This car park is monitored by Automatic Number Plate Recognition, meaning it is vital drivers enter their correct VRM when paying to park to avoid being issued a PCN.
On this occasion, we have decided to reduce the Parking Charge Notice from £60.00 to £25.00 to cover admin costs that have occurred by our company due to the error that was made. Payment of £25.00 must be recieved by [DATE] to avoid the costs increasing. You can pay this PCN by visiting [LINK TO PAYAPCN] or by calling our automated payement line 0333 023 0058.
If you feel our decision is unfair, you can submit your appeal to the Independant Appeals Service via their website [LINK TO IAS/APPEAL]. Please note that once you have appealed your PCN to the IAS you will no longer have the option to pay the reduced amount of £60.00 and the amount payable will be £60.00."
At this point, despite making a strong arguement I feel that this is still grossly unfair strong case and that this is a blaintant cash grab in which I am not interested in playing 'their game' any further.
Should I continue the appeal process or just ignore them?
I received a responce.

I would ignore them and see them in court where a judge would consider that you have paid and its a trifling matter, the law does not deal with trifles, so you should win in court
the PPC has 6 years to try a court case , so meanwhile will send DCA letters that should be ignored
come back for further advice if you get an LBC or an MCOL in the post within 6 years
keep ALL paperwork etc0 -
as above
BUT NOTE:
the company have accepted that you paid , and have now issued an invoice for office service/admin
the invoice is for £25 ,
the parking "offence" no longer existsSave a Rachael

Ouch. That's about six quid down the drain isn't it?Countrywide Parking Management Appeals Department
It makes no difference, no appeal to an IPC firm is likely to win, because - allegedly, but supported by public domain postings going back a good few years, all saying the same thing - PPCs pay lip service to an appeals system and the IAS is (so it's said) a biased kangaroo court.
These matters are won at defence stage if/when Gladstones get involved and muck it up. So my best advice to you now is to ignore everything else until (rare) you get a LBC or court claim, and in the gap in between, stick around on the forum and read, follow and bookmark Gladstones defended claim cases and learn how we help people to keep winning them.
That's the best preparation to stop you getting panicky if a LBC or claim happens. Highly unlikely, as you would be the first!

The BMPA exposes them as small fry who have NEVER tried court. I'd relax, collect all the debt letters.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I have received a letter of claim from BWLegal.
If payment or responce from me is not received by in 30 days time they 'are instructed to issue a county court claim'.
I have ignored but kept all previous correspondance relating to the issue.
I am happy to go to court.0 -

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct
Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.
The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

Has BWLegal given you proof of their claim.
BWLegal are a robo claims firm which means that they
get lots of raw meat, feed it through a machine and out
pops sausages to which they don't know what they are
made of or anything about them. BIG BIG JOKE
The letter you have from the PPC confirming that you paid
is enough to get the infamous BWLegal whooped yet again
in court.
The so called admin fee of £25 is just another way to
milk you of money when in reality if their system worked
correctly, it is their problem.
No admin fee can be applied and it's a normal business
expense just like the cost of uniforms, petrol etc that is
all part of running a business.
A judge last year made that very clear.
Reply to BWL advising them of what their clients say.
You don't even need to copy BWL in as this will form part
if not all of your evidence to be shown to a judge.
If BWL do issue court proceedings, I look forward to adding
your case to the current BWLegal list of failures
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5672664/bwlegal-the-list-of-failures-growing
Be aware that BWLegal read this forum, no doubt to find
out how they have c**ked up again
If you receive a court claim from BWL, come back here
and you will get all the help to zap them0 -
Sorry to trouble you. I'm sure you get this alot. But my concern requires me to act and I want to nip these idiots in the bud.Reply to BWL advising them of what their clients say.

Countrywide parking ltd have acknowledged that parking was paidfor the day that ther driver parked.
But are charging the keeper'£25 admin costs' that inflate (As im sure you are aware)., despite enetering an incorrect letter on the vehicle number plate.
Is that all needs to be communicated to BW Legal?
In addition, they still get my name wrong on every piece of correspondance up to the most recent. Hypocrites.
Kindest regards.0 -

Your most recent post needs to be edited to remove all clues to the driver's identity.
It was the driver that did things on the day and the keeper that received the letter of claim.
There is no place for the word 'I' when describing events of the day.
For example, perhaps your sentence starting with 'Countrywide' should look something like:Countrywide parking ltd have acknowledged that the driver paid parking for the day that he/she parked.Review and adjust the rest of your post similarly.
Also, why are you apparently accepting that the driver made a mistake with the reg no?
Why does their poorly setup system accept a payment for a car with a registration number that was never in the car park?
Anyway, how can they say that the driver made a mistake? How can they possibly know whether the driver entered the correct reg, but for some inexplicable reason - stick keys, malfunctioning keypad - the wrong reg was accepted?0 -
I'm sure you get this a lot. But my concern requires me to act and I want to nip these idiots in the bud.
See the NEWBIES thread, there is no nipping BW Legal in the bud, but they are damn easy to beat at court stage!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
