Speeding - 41 in a 30

Where did I say to not accept a FPN??
If the OP has received a summons, they aren't offering an FPN. Therefore he can either plead guilty by post. Or by attendance.
At no stage did I advocate CHOOSING to go to court. Rather that attendance can help vs non attendance.
Where did the OP say they'd received a summons?0 -
Well that told me :-)
Lets keep fingers crossed0 -
I've only had a NIP at the moment for 41 in a 300
-
Well they didn't say theyd received a FPN either in fairness?
And that is why most have responded based on what we do know.I had the notice of prosecution stating the speed.
My query is will I have to go to court or will I get a reply telling me what my fine is etc?
Rather than what could potentially but is unlikely to happen.0 -
Apologies if others have mentioned this, but I can't see it anywhere...
OP - if you don't want to go to court, make sure you respond to the NIP within time, naming the driver (if you have not already done so).
Otherwise you are almost certain to end up attending court!0 -
Going to court can be beneficial.
You can plead guilty and provide mitigation.
e.g. no previous convictions.
Stop giving incorrect information. The OP is eligible for a fixed penalty at least and an SAC if he hasn't done one for speed in the last 3 years.
Repeating poor advice doesn't make it any less incorrect.0 -

The OP asked if it would go to court. So it was clear that it wasn't at summons stage.0 -

Well it's not incorrect. So, politely, do one.0
