No because there's always a couple of things in each hamper you don't want.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Thanks for the OP! Its hnbdy to have the contents and price detailed in one place, it looks like Aldi has some lovely festive treats in this year. I also am impressed that all options are vegeratian, not a jar of pate not tin of :spam: in sight.
I quite like the thought of a hamper, maybe that's just a side effect of being middle-aged. (Vows to look out for a wicker basket from a chazzer and fill it with Aldi goodies just for me).

There's lots of stuff in all the hampers that I'd turn my nose up at.
Lots of chocolate-y things that don't appeal - I'm strictly dark chocolate.
And I don't eat sweet stuff generally.
In fact of all the items in all of the hampers this is the only item I'd buy off the shelves:
Specially Selected Colombian coffee (200g, norm £1.99)
With the wicker hampers, the cost is between £10.99 and £16.11 for the basket with a spend of between £60 and £100.
Definitely a good idea to look out for something similar in a charity shop if hampers are 'your thing'..
I did that for a surprise extra wedding present for my sister and filled it with all the things I knew they'd like.
It's a 'no' from me.0 -
Someone's mentioned in the Facebook comments that B&M has cheap baskets you could use to fill up with your own Aldi contents.Could you do with a Money Makeover?

Iceland are doing empty weaved baskets as well. The basket, filling paper bed, plastic wrap and a small red ribbon, But at £5 it's expensive.
But they are flying off the shelves.:oThe more I live, the more I learn.

As I said up-thread, the cost is between £10.99 and £16.11 for the basket with a spend of between £60 and £100 (of stuff that may or may not be appreciated).
At least with DIY, you can put stuff in that you know the recipient will like and of course you're not limited to Aldi.
Now that's the real MSE deal. :T0 -

4ldi sell those, £4.99 I think. The basket, the wrapping stuff, the filling stuff.... a "kit". Chazza would charge you as much/more, without the cellophane and other stuff... and it'd have stains on it.0 -
I'd never buy anybody a hamper, unless I were already on my way to their house and had NO gift and desperately wanted one.
In the main they're overpriced as you're paying for "the wrap" - and people don't like what's in them.
My sibling bought mum/dad a hamper one year - all strange/middle class stuff that my elderly parents (who mostly ate mince and potatoes, or a pie) had never heard of and would have NO idea how to use. It all ended up just being unwrapped, wicker basket in the bin, food shoved into the cupboard, then slowly just thrown away over the next 2-3 years as they don't eat that stuff.0 -

I've got a number of baskets that I've bought from charity shops over the years and done Christmas-style decorations in and none of those have been stained.
That includes a lovely basket with handle that I line with red shiny fabric and have woven a red, green & gold tartan ribbon through the top of the basket which I have under the tree with very large pine cones in.
I do agree about buying hampers though.
It seems to me to be a 'I can't think what to get you so I chucked a load of wasted money at this' type of gift - unless you really know what the person likes and are willing and able to spend time collecting items for various shops.0
