SKY/BT Trespass

It is a normal cable like from telephone pole.0

Checked the deed. It does not mention anything about BT, Openreach or Sky.0

Are you seriously saying that they've forced entry into your house, without your knowledge to do this?I got a new neighbour after 9 years of living on my property. I noticed a cable running from my property to theirs. Asked then about it and they did not know as well. Two weeks later, they tell me Sky claims it is a joint box and they have the right to lay the cable from my terraced property to theirs. I have phoned and emailed Sky and Openreach to confirm what agreement entitles them to enter my property connect cables to another property and also move the box around on my wall leaving ugly holes in the wall without as much as informing me. I am just afraid they will run cables to all the properties on the street from ours because it is cheaper to do so. Nine years and suddenly someone turns up to do this.
There is no acknowledgement or response from both organisations. What can I do? It feels so not right.

They did not enter, they did this on my wall. It feels really so wrong and I want to challenge it before they run cables all over the neighbourhood from my house. How do I proceed any advice ? Any good solicitors that could provide good advice and take this on?0

Its difficult to understand .
This box on your wall . How high is it ??
I have a box high up on my wall cable from pole to box cable from box to next door .
Reads to me as BT Openreach standard phone cabling .
Use your local CAB office to find a local legal expert .
Take photographs .0 -
Well they haven't trespassed then or entered your property as you put it originally. The outside connection/junction box on the exterior of your house remains the property of BT Openreach and I don't think you have any right to stop them from adding another drop cable to it.They did not enter, they did this on my wall. If they have moved it and caused damage to your property as a result then you do have the right to have them make good any such damage.0 -
without some photos, we are all guessing.0

Checked the deed. It does not mention anything about BT, Openreach or Sky.
Does it make any mention of a wayleave or easement on the property?
If its a BT/openreach box, contact them on: archive.ripple@bt.com
They'll be able to tell you if there is a wayleave/easement on your property (and I believe they'll provide this free to the landowner but not to anyone else).
You may find there isnt one, you may find they only have an agreement for the old equipement and not the new etc. Either way, you should have a right to have them make good any damage they do (ie the holes for example) but you'll really need to find out if they have the authority for it and if so, what exactly it authorises them to do.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

Unless the OP's house wall directly borders the public pavement then there HAS been access to the OP's property. Whether that's trespass depends on if there's a wayleave or easement as mentioned above.0 -
Here's Openreach's web page on wayleaves (including contact details): https://www.ournetwork.openreach.co.uk/altering-our-network/obtaining-your-wayleaves.aspxIf it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
