SKY/BT Trespass

I got a new neighbour after 9 years of living on my property. I noticed a cable running from my property to theirs. Asked then about it and they did not know as well. Two weeks later, they tell me Sky claims it is a joint box and they have the right to lay the cable from my terraced property to theirs. I have phoned and emailed Sky and Openreach to confirm what agreement entitles them to enter my property connect cables to another property and also move the box around on my wall leaving ugly holes in the wall without as much as informing me. I am just afraid they will run cables to all the properties on the street from ours because it is cheaper to do so. Nine years and suddenly someone turns up to do this.
There is no acknowledgement or response from both organisations. What can I do? It feels so not right.

What do your deeds say? Think yourself lucky, several of my neighbour's sewage pipes converge in a box in my driveway before entering the main system.0

Deeds may well state something about right of access for utilities such as water or sewerage but I doubt if they will have anything about telecoms companies that may well not even have existed when the property was originally built.Keep_pedalling wrote: »What do your deeds say? What services do you have?
What type of property do you have? Is it leashold? mid terrace?0 -
i do not have a contract with Sky. My neighbour has the contract with Sky.0

Neighbour has a contract with Sky.
The property is freehold and terraced.
It is a 'telephone or cable TV' cable from a Phone box on my wall to my neighbours property.0 -
Is this like the normal cables from property to telephone pole ??0
-
The deeds are with the mortgage lenders.0
-
So it's a phone cable from openreach.
I assume you have an openreach phone too.
It will be in the contract with your provider that they can do this.0 -
