Pinterest App has drained all my data in 48 hours!

Has anyone else had this issue?
I've whittled it down to pinterest. I got my 6gb of data renewed at 12 midnight on Saturday and by this morning had nothing left. Pinterest had used 5.09 in that time.


I haven't used it much, and certainly no more than normal. I've never experience it before and the same thing has happened to my mom who never runs out of data.


I've yet to receive a response from Pinterest but I am so stressed as I can't really afford a bolt on and it doesn't renew until December 12th.


I really don't understand why this has happened but have now changed a lot of my settings.


Any insight would be much appreciated?

Turn off mobile data for this app in settings?

Like the useless Trip Advisor app, it looks like this one re-invents itself every couple of weeks requiring a full download (according to the reviews), I ditched Trip Advisor because of that...

I never knew that. It's so frustrating as I have been using it for years but never had any issue so I don't know why it has suddenly done it.

I had this issue years ago, my new phone was using loads of data, I had to call Tesco at the time and basically say i'm not using any of this data and have no idea what was happening, and the guy on the phone had no idea either and just said he'd put a note on the account,

Went on for a couple of weeks and managed to pin it down to the Skynews app at the time,

Does the usage settings screen on the phone show this particular app to be the culprit? The issue I had with Trip Advisor was that the app was updated every couple of weeks for no reason, after all, it’s about content which doesn’t require a new app... it didn’t consume much data, it was the constant nag to download yet another update from the App Store that led me to delete it (not to mention the “friends, owners and relatives” glowing reviews) :rotfl:

Yes, when I amended the date range it showed that since Nov 14th Pinterest had used 5.09gb. It's really wrong and It's so stressful!

UPDATE!!!
Pinterest have emailed me to confirm there was a glitch in their system that they are working on.


That still doesn't give me my data back though

They've virtually admitted theft of your data. Ask for compensation as well as the cost of the data.

I doubt they'll do anything but I've asked them what they intend to do. I'm still waiting for an answer. No doubt they'll never reply.
