Have they dug a hole at the bottom the existing hill then ?
    I thought maybe 2nd or 3rd response.

I didn't think they'd get panned in the very first one :rotfl:

That’s a very posh plate in the photo. Do they really use those?

They do, although I'm not sure that they're real Burleigh ware.

    "Wetherspoons are going down hill!"

From their remarkably low standard, that is difficult to believe

It was lukewarm! That's more than you'd get in a Manc Wetherspoons
  • The rule I always follow is to try and eat at their 'newer' premises - the flagship locations.
The middle-of-deserted-town ones are usually awful, but the Velvet Coaster in Blackpool, the new one in Ormskirk (can't remember the name for the life of me) have always been pretty good.

It's cheap for a reason, but I've never had a particularly bad experience.

Were they ever up hill in the first place?

When they 1st came out in NW London & were just a v small chain of real ale pubs with no music & no fruit machines they were quite good (by comparison to other pubs at the time).

Try eating Buffalo wings rather than Wetherspoons weird version (what in God's name is an Asian sauce being used for!). Wings should be deep fried and then immediately tossed in butter and sauce. Frank and Terassas Anchor Bar sauce is the original buffalo wing sauce, though Y Wings is also very good. Check out the chilli lovers websites such as Hotheadz and Dr Burnorium for sauces and do your tastebuds a favour.
