Hi all,

Can anyone please suggest the best place for a car battery. My car is a 2.0 2005 Ford Mondeo petrol engine. Also does anyone know the battery type.

Formula 1 are quoting me £85 for one.

Thanks

I would suggest putting the new battery in the same location the old one is removed from.

(Try Tanya online for buying it)
  • Try Eurocarparts, just input the car reg and it should give a few options.
  • If buying an online battery check the dimensions.

Sometimes the alternative battery won't fit the tray-happened to me.

Had to do lash up as security of battery is an MOT issue.
  • Last time I bought a Bosch battery from EuroCarParts on eBay and fitted it myself; was a good price compared to the market; around £43 I think. Has performed well for last two years.

A good call - but also worth checking on CarParts4Less.co.uk. I believe this is a "sister site" of ECP, but it's online only, and ( I presume for that reason ) tends to be a bit cheaper. I've used them loads over the years for various parts ( including batteries ), never had a problem.

Thanks for the advise so far.

Something else to check is the orientation of the battery terminals, we bought the type recommended on the battery mega store website only to find the positive and negative terminals were the wrong way round for the car.
