Beverley BS 5.3%

hi i'm looking for the best rate on an ISA with instant access & with a no fee transfer.

I've found Beverley Building Society with 5.3% that allows one free withdrawal per year (including transfers). however their website does not give me much confidence as the apply online link has been broken for over a week now ( i'll probably give them a call in the next couple of days) & I see they only have 2 branches.

so a couple of questions:

has anyone dealt with beverley & how have they found them ?

does anyone know of a better paying rate for the terms i'm looking for ?

thanks in advance for any replies.

edit to note that i'm aware of the first direct 6.25% deal ending in october.

I haven't completed the process, but when I click on "Apply" a full application form pops up, so it looks like it might be OK.

Are you sure it's a site problem and not your PC?

There's an application form to print, complete & post HERE, as an alternative.

    HTH :)

    thanks DFC

the problem happens after submitting the form, SQL errors, so problem definately at their end.

however i never spotted the postal option, so thanks for that

am still a little nervous about investing in what seems like a small company whose website is not maintained on a regular basis.

I live 10 miles from Beverley and I have never heard of bad reports about this Building Society.

Bought an I.S.A. from these folks on 6th of April '02 by personnal visit, interest to be paid into my nominated bank a/c. Come the first week in April '03 I am scanning my a/c online for signs of payment....nowt.
Roundabout the 10th of April I e-mailed them, and waited, and waited, and waited, another e-mal, nowt. Eventually I snailmailed them and received payment on the 30th of April.
April '04 came around a payment was made on the 7th which was double what it should have been. Knowing the response time for communication by e-mail with this organisation, I e-mailed them enquiring, "Could this be the best mini cash I.S.A. in the world ever ?" Eventually I received a reply, I was asked to return the cheque which I couldn't because payment had been made by B.A.C.S. I offered to send them a cheque for half the amount, this they accepted and they offered me £50 for my honesty and inconvenience. I declined this on the grounds that they were a mutual organisation and had they been a p.l.c. I would have fought for a larger amount.
This year, payment was correct and on time.
In my opinion, I reckon they may have a problem with things connected with the internet as previous posts appear to indicate.

I do have some scruples when it comes to mutuals, after all the members do own the society so we are constantly told.
Now if they wish to pursue a p.l.c. route, then that's a different matter. In that instance I would go with the majority !
