Good morning all
Thank you for starting us off Hollyharvey
Dp1 my DH has dementia and I understand how difficult it is, I'm sure having you there to support you both your Mum and Dad means so much. Hope your Dad is on the mend.
Dumpling hope you had a good time with Becky
Lamewolf shopping, I hate shopping, definitely not a pleasure.
I have decided to have a lazy day. Chicken casserole in the sc, may wizz the vacuum around but not much else planned.
Hope you all have a good dayIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.0 -
Good morning
Glad your visit went well Dumpling
Another one who hates shopping here. I do as much as I can online. My mum on the other hand really enjoys it and would spend hours if she could mooching round morrisons picking stuff up putting it down and buying the same stuff she always doesI think she sees it as a social event!
Managed to do a full food inventory yesterday so it seems I am fully prepared for a 6 month lock in no problem at all  I have had a strong word with myself and will be making sure I keep up with list so that I don't just pick the first thing I see on the top of the freezer drawer or keep buying the same stuff over and over. Want a bit of space for any christmas goodies too but I certainly wont be buying much this year as it will be just me
Plan today is to do some advert cleaning during my favourite programme of the week Sunday Brunch. Really need to tackle upstairs at some point and sort out some clothes for charity so that may happen this afternoon or I may just chill.
tonights scoff will be lamb tandori in flatbreads and possibly Glamorgan sausage if I get round to making them
Have a lovely relaxed Sunday everyone :A0 -
Morning,
Sun is shining but cold in my neck of the woods. Need to do big shop and prep shopping list. Not going to add anything to the list that will take an age to cook so quick and easy stuff as we are away next weekend. I usually leave a Friday as my cook from scratch day but not here that day. I am taking two dd’s and dh away as it is his birthday on Friday. So I am hoping this weeks shop will be a little cheaper.
Need to sort out washed clothes and put away. Then need to iron and prep for the week ahead.
Have a good Sunday.0 -
Morning all
Thanks for the thread Holly and hugs to all those in need.
I've been awake since 5 so I was reading my kindle, I usually read for 4 or 5 hours a night. I started to read Why Mummy Drinks by Gill Sims, big mistake! I couldn't stay in bed as I kept snorting with laughter. So I got up to read and I laughed until I cried, I know my kids are all grown up now but I can still remember the days of trying to get them dressed and to school on time and some of the poisonous mothers in the playground.
We're having brisket for Sunday lunch it's been von the stove over night and it smells delicious, well better than Hubby's farts, he poured bbq sauce over his chicken yesterday. Bbq sauce is the work of the devil as far as in concerned.
Have a good day everyone.

Am delivering some more stuff today, ching ching then coming back to look for more gubbins to sell.
I think Bonnie Madam is starting her 2nd season, she's even more of a pita than usual, so will keep her in for now.

Morning everyone,
Back from the yard and just scoffing a small bowl of granola and berries, we have eldest DSS coming over for a full english at 11am but I am starving after clearing Lulu's stable and not pretty when hangry :rotfl:
Otherwise not much planned for today, hope to get out on Lulu later but weather dependent of course.
Pleased to hear that your visit went well Dumpling.
LW I very much consider food shopping to be one of the household chores and if my beloved suggested otherwise if could find himself permanently ensconced in one of those child seats in a shopping trolley
Have a good day folks x0 -
Morning all
Nice bright day here and I have stripped the beds and got them in the wm will hang them out for a while later, there is another load to go in after.
Need to have a good clean through the downstairs today the builder was brilliant and very tidy but there is grit underfoot which is being walked through the house, so need to hover and mop the floors.
We need to pop to the shops too,( I consider it a job and if I go alone OH will be doing another job here, he will come out and help me lift it all in though. )
we only need a few bits and bobs mainly for lunches for next week.
Ive got a piece of pork in the fridge so will cook that today and have a roast, we have not had one for ages so it will be nice, will see if dd's boyf wants to eat with us too.
Right better get on have good days all xx
Dumpling glad Becky was ok xx0 -
Morning all
The weather is intermittent sun and heavy showers, accompanied by gusty winds.
Another one who was sleepless in Wales last night, still hadn't shut my eyes at 4.30 am. Just couldn't settle I suppose.
Anyhow today's another day and it's roast lunch day. Dad just phoned and he has no heating again ( Does that sound familiar Nelski ) . Apparently he's fiddled with the buttons and changed the batteries in the wireless wall thermostat. Last time he did that he put in some batteries from a £ shop and they were no good. But as usual he knows best . So he will call out the heating engineer tomorrow, good job he kept on with his service plan, although we had a heated debate over that too. And breathe ! So he is coming over early, we don't mind as I can't bear the thought of him in a cold house although he has fan heaters, halogen and bottled gas heaters too.
Sorry for the rant.
Didn't do the hoovering yesterday so I'm feet up on the sofa as Mr Fix It hoovers around me :rotfl:. I'm going to watch the Remembrance service but first I must quickly prep the veg.
Take care all and hugs to all.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Hello again
I thought I'd return and make a proper post now it's a more respectable hour on a Sunday morning.
Well after about 4 hours surfing from 3am to 7am I had a few hours dozing. I was so thirsty in the early hours I drank 2 pints of milk..I know I should drink water but I love cold milk.
I am now actually out of bed and gone as far as putting the WM on. Everywhere needs cleaning but I'm not sure if it'll get done today. We'll see.
I also need to sort out the drawers under my bed which are full of clothes, bedding, towels etc. I've just emptied the clothes one looking for a specific cosy jumper I wanted to put over my pj's..couldn't find it, so I tipped the lot out. Found it, then ran away at great speed from the resulting mess
Anyway, I am waffling now so I'll leave you all in peace...but Shopping is absolutely a chore and I hate it so LW you are entitled to be mad!
Have a good Sunday one and all x'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought
And I ain't got the power anymore'0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one. Glad to read that your visit to Becky went well Dumpling. I hope she is able to have a home visit before too long.
Bright morning but brrrrr we are cosy insdie, the heating has gone off for now, the sun warms the front of the house nicely. Will put it back on later.
Veggies done for supper, roast chicken and all the trimmings. I have also used up some frozen strawberries in a jelly for dessert. I have so much fruit in the freezer, its ridiculous, need to start using it up.
WE had our usual Sunday brekkie in bed, think OH may be going out for a potter in the garden.
I must admit I have slept better the last couple of nights, I changed the duvet in the week to the 10.5tog whether its that or not. If it gets really cold I pull up the quilt, it gives us enough warmth when its colder.
Two pot holders made yesterday with some scraps. I need to tackle that b.....d knitting bag and see if I can improve it......otherwise it will go in the bin.
I have put the shower curtain in the washer, filled it with water and soap powder, let it twirl for a few minutes and have now switched the washer off. In the morning will drain the water and rinse it then hang it out. Hoping to move some of the limescale from the bottom hem. I use the bio power from Lidl, it works great on whites.0
