O/S Daily Sunday 12th November 2017

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

    Morning everyone

I’ve been up since 2.30am, I just couldn’t sleep. I’ve been watching the tv and I’m now surfing the internet. I feel pretty wrung out now though. At least I can have a sleep on the sofa this afternoon.

Dp1 Sorry to hear about your dad, I hope that he is soon feeling better.
Dumpling I hope that you had a good afternoon with Becky.
Lamewolf shopping is a chore, something that has to be done, not an outing for pleasure. I can understand why you are angry.

I spent most of yesterday doing not a lot other than watching tv and dozing off, so I feel that today I must at least be more productive and do some housework. I think I’ll dust and vacuum the sitting room and my bedroom if nothing else.

There is some laundry but I will leave that to build up for a few days to make two full loads of whites and darks.

Other than this little bit of housework I don’t have anything planned so will just see how the day unfolds.

Have a good day everyone whatever you are doing.

Oh dear! We make a right pair. I remember us both being like this back in the summer :(.
  • Me three. This time, I'm up because my back hurts so I've surfed the net and I think I might watch some mindless TV.

I've got a hottle bottle. And some tea.

Later I might have a hot bath and even later, must do Sunday dinner. Roast chicken etc.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

I'll join you. I've just given Little Miss her first feed of the day and I'm waiting for her to settle before I go back to sleep. She is cooing in her Moses basket so I might have a wait.

    Anyway, Morning all

I'll save my onwards and forwards till later.

    Morning everyone

hollyharvey - thanks for starting us off, I got up at 2.30am and was going to start us off then but thought it was a bit early, so after drinking coffee and surfing on here I did go back to bed, but not really slept, so have now got up again!

Hugs to those that want/need one x

Happy birthday to those with a birthday x

Now light, dry underfoot and sky quite clear, must have been quite cold in the night as the heating kept coming on.

DH and myself up enjoying cuppas - I've just eaten my porridge, he's now having his breakfast too. DS2 still in his pit, DS1 away and not coming home until tomorrow.

Dinner last night was HM egg fried rice, with bacon and sausages cut up in it, DH had fish fingers in with his too. Lunch today will be roast chicken, I'm not doing a full roast, just mash, veg and gravy, I may do yorkshires though.

As expected we stayed at home yesterday afternoon, just chilled, DH definitely is better than he was, still not right but better, he had to promise the Dr that if his cough was not gone by Thursday he would go back, whilst he's better, I don't think it will be gone by Thursday, so he'll go back.

Today will be another day of not doing much, so I'll just get pack ups ready for tomorrow whilst the lunch is cooking, then chill this afternoon.

    Keep safe and well x

  • Morning folks. There must have been something in the air last night. So many of us having a bad night. I went to bed about 11.00 (after dozing off on the sofa) and then couldn't sleep so ended up back downstairs again till about 2.30. I finally slept and woke up at 5.00 with cramp. Aaaargh! I am another wrung out rag this morning.

I don't feel up to much but I do want to get the bedding stripped off and washed once Mr TA vacates the bed. I have given up pegging out as the surrounding high fences and huge conifers block the sun when it's low in the sky. SK size takes some drying draped around upstairs.

I did think yesterday I might go to the TKMaxx on the other side of town this morning but now I am thinking can I be ar*ed! I wanted to have a look at clothing for the menfolk I have to buy for.

Not given a thought to today's meals and still haven't got back to the Sunday roasts. I might just defrost some chicken breasts and do Smothered Chicken for lunch with some baby garlic roasties and roasted veg.

Have a good dayl if you can and ((HUGS)) where wanted/needed. Thinking of DP1 and DUMPLING and all the sleepless ones. Take care xx

    Morning All

The sun is about to pop it's head up over the hills, chilly but dry here today. Yesterday wasn't too bad either, got washing dried outside. The bedding had a quick airing on the radiators then went back on the bed, it smelled lovely.

Sorry to the non-sleepers but I had a great nights sleep, probably about 10 hours so feeling bright this morning. The ironing is done, just need to put it away.

The boxercise class was really good fun and I don't feel too bad today but tomorrow could be a different story! Didn't do much the rest of the day but didn't feel guilty at all.

Sorry to hear about your Dad dp1.
    How was Becky dumpling?

Going to take a friend to see the Kelpies later, I've been before and they are stunning, hope the sun is still shining as they are quite majestic with sunshine on them.

Have a happy Sunday, take care. XX

    Good morning everyone :hello:

It's cold but dry here this morning which makes a nice change from all the rain we had yesterday. I had a bit of a restless night but not as bad as some of you poor ladies on here. Hope you all manage to get a bit of a nana nap later on xx

The visit to see Becky went well but we only stayed for half an hour as she was becoming anxious. She looked tired and a bit grubby to be honest so I will be ringing the ward on Monday and asking to speak to her named nurse. I know they can't force her to have a shower but a bit of gentle encouragement might do the trick. She was still chattering about her voices so that hasn't changed and she loved her new phone and other bits and pieces. Hopefully she will get leave next weekend to come home for a day or so. I was sad to leave her there but she is in the best place for now.

Steve is in charge of domestics today and I think we are having roast chicken for lunch. I need to catch up with the washing as well so at least the house will be warm from the tumble dryer.

Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx
