    Morning

Dumpling have a great visit I bet Becky is really excited to see you too.

Dry but chilli here today need to get out and do a bit of a shop today no food yet ...i'm still on use up and will be for a while apart from fresh stuff. Going to run to M+S soon to pick up some online purchases. I have my call in time lady this morning for half an hour then I will crack on with the house work.

Need to put some big ski gloves on and update my freezer list. I have problems with the nerves in my hands so without gloves freezer food would be agony ...fortunately nobody sees my strange outfit :rotfl: I suspect the contents of the freezer are out of control again so its a good time to stop buying more. Least I can palm some of it off on mum now :D

Having said all of that I am also going to make some Glamorgan sausages and red onion chutney this weekend from a recipe I saw on 4 in a bed this week. I think its a hairy biker one ...I have 4 leeks to use up so this will fit the bill.

Food tonight will much depend on the delights I dig out of the freezer later.

Have a lovely weekend everyone :A

    Morning everyone,

I was up and out by 6.45am and just back from the yard, starving hungry so will shortly inhale a bacon sarnie :D
Need to catch up on some chores today, change the towels etc and the kitchen could do with a good going through. I would also like to start sorting through my cookery books as I tend to only use a few so think the others can go to the CS. What's the betting I end up spending hours looking through them all :rotfl:
Not sure about supper, something from the freezer I think.

Enjoy your visit with Becky Dumpling.
Glad to hear that your DD is healing well JackieO

Have a good day folks x

You sound like you could do with a break (not family member's neck please ;) ) Is there any way you can make some time for you

I will be fine, just need you to put up with my moaning but if anyone's got a desert island I could use for a week or two I'd be grateful. Must be hound friendly though as I'm their main carer. :)

Frank...dear Frank, still holding on. He will choose when the time is right. It's hard on those he is leaving behind. The first time Mom was on end of life care she wasn't ready. I wasn't ready....The second and final time, we both were.

    Morning,

Very misty this morning, very Sherlock Holmes. Taking eldest to dance class in five minutes. Going to get a freebie coffee from Booths with loyalty card.

Need to do meal plans and shopping list later for big shop tomorrow.
Have a bag of jacket potatoes instead of white potatoes from last week so going to use these up for a shepherds pie tomorrow.

    Have a good weekend.
  • Morning all, just.
Had a night of broken sleep because of strange / bizarre dreams, so slept in late :o. Managed to get up just before 10am but feel like I'm wading through treacle. So will take things slowly today and in my own time as there is not much that "needs " doing.
I have given Mr Fix It's beard / hair a trim and polished the top :rotfl:. The DW has been filled and started, after lunch I shall sort out the Christmas stuff, to see what I have already and endeavour not to double up ! I will also have a look at the present situation as things have been bought and shoved away in cupboards ( guilty as charged on that one ). Next I want to hoover and dust downstairs, make a trifle ready for tomorrow and then "I'm Free" to do my own thing which will probably be a film :D.
Don't know what to do for tea, took a packet of sausages out of the freezer, but don't fancy those now :(. Oh well I may ask Mr Fix It to rustle up a suprise meal instead :rotfl:. He's good at that but don't tell him :shhh:.
Dumpling give Becky a hug from me too
TA I love Thorn*ons chocs too, a bit too much if I'm honest :o. As they say "a little bit of what you fancy does you good ".
Judi moan / rant away girl, "anytime, anyplace, anywhere".
Hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need or want one.

Morning all - don't often come on here but I suspect I will from now on. We're buying a place in the country so we can keep chickens and possibly goats, and will have a lot of land to grow fruit and veg. So that's what we're gearing towards, hopefully moving in January, and we're aiming to go self-sufficientish, supplemented by my salary as a wageslave. I'm making a list of things I want to make - jams, chutneys, pickled veg, breadmaking.

Starting today by clearing out the veg drawer in the fridge and making soup - butternut squash, red onion and spinach. Might do paneer curry for dinner tonight.

More decluttering is needed before the move. The loft is largely done except DH's power tools; we got rid of thousands of books but still have around 1500 to move with us. Bits of furniture will need to go to the stepson for his hipster commune, and the middle bedroom still needs to be cleared, but we're making progress. The new house and land is much bigger, but I'm using this opportunity to really get rid of junk and for once DH is onside with it. Nothing else planned for the weekend and it's a bit grim out there, so rolling up my sleeves and getting stuck in :)

    *Rant alert*

    I. Am. Fuming.

Had a discussion with Mr LW last night, about how it is always HE who chooses when/where we go out for leisure if we go at all.

His retort: "Well you always choose when we go to the supermarket".

How is that in any way comparable? We have to visit the supermarket or there'd be no food in the house, and he'd take a very dim view of that. If I was able to go on my own, I would - in fact I'd prefer it, as i'd get round much more quickly and efficiently; but I simply cannot lift my wheelchair in and out of the car.
I loathe going food shopping, it is not something I do for fun, I do it because it has to be done. It is a Household Chore, just one that is done away from the house.

I don't shop online because a) I don't trust them to get the order correct, b) I wish to choose the products myself, and c) a lot of our food comes from @ldi and the F&V market stall, so online isn't even an option.

How very dare he say that this means I'm choosing more outings than he is????

    GGGRRRRRR :mad::mad::mad::mad:

    *Rant over*

Oh dear LW rant away. I'm sending many hugs to you. Just a thought, could you not suggest a role swap ? Let him decide about the supermarket for a while, I'm sure he will soon realise his mistake :rotfl:.

    LW

Years ago DH made the smug statement "She wants to go shopping!"
to a friend  Before I could stop myself I commented that I did not consider going out to buy basic foods, toothpaste, toilet rolls, bleach etc to be a shopping treat and if he thought that he was very welcome to do it on his own and enjoy the buzz of it all.

He got a bit quiet and since then referred to it as "Do we need to go shopping?" ;)

Once we discovered the outlets and discounters and he realised how much money we could save if he was able to drive me , load up the car etc he got a lot more into the way of seeing it as a joint stock up.

  • Morning, oh sorry its afternoon, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one, give Beccy a hug from me when you see her Dumpling.

Very late waking up, I slept very well for me, but I was falling asleep on the settee at 9pm last night.

We have borrowed back the boxes to empty the shed, at least we will not be forced into taking it down early, the contractors are doing that. We need to know a week in advance so the stuff is not stored for too long.

OH has gone for his siesta, I need to cut a couple more bowl cozies out and also sort out some more pot holders.

Its very cold here, I will be lighting the fire shortly, the heating can go back on before we go to bed.

Cooked gammon, jacket spuds, tomato and celery salad for supper tonight.
