Yes, not only for texting but there's a fair usage time limit allowed in general for the 'Roam like at Home' regulations, otherwise everyone would start using a PAYG SIM from an EU country where they don't live, to avoid all international call charges to other EU countries. Had you been roaming for ninety days already when your service was interrupted?

I think all the networks on both payg and contract only allow roaming for 90 days now. It's meant for visits not for long stay or moving oversea's.
