Crap solicitor and vendor putting pressure on us

We had an offer on a property accepted end of September and immediately got survey , mortgage and searches underway. All that came back fairly quickly (3 weeks). , but after hearing nothing for a couple of weeks despite emailing and ringing solicitor I found out this week that she has left the company with immediate effect ( I think she was fired). She never replied and never sent anything out when promised etc.
The new case handler has done a lot over last couple of days , but said they are still awaiting a few enquiries back from sellers solicitor . The seller emailed last night to ask why it’s taking so long and that her vendor is getting very anxious about having an empty house ( he was renting it out but now selling and the tenants left beginning of the month ) her offer was only accepted early October, surely he shouldn’t be getting worked up this quickly?? I don’t want it all to fall through after spending so much already and we are only awaiting last bits of info in order to exchange. Is her seller being unrealistic? I’m a worry wart anyway.

When you say the seller emailed, are you in direct contact with them? If so, I would advise against this. It just creates issues. Get in touch with the estate agent.
Keep it simple.
"My solicitor left the company and the firm has appointed a new one. They have now caught up and are now awaiting for some responses to enquiries from the sellers solicitors. I will chase up the solicitor at the end of next week to confirm everything is still OK and will let you know then."
It's been 6 weeks, and you have already got the mortgage sorted. Have you filled in TA6 form? If not, suggest you do this now and it will help the seller feel more at ease.0 -
Never bow to pressure. What's the rush? Are they trying to rush you so you might miss something? Personally it would ring warning bells for me.Pants0

We completed the ta6 /deeds/contract forms earlier this week so hopefully very close. We are still hoping for end of month completion
Just had me worried that they are piling pressure on after just 4 weeks despite us being very proactive with everything.
Thanks for the replies. Xxx0
