Best place to purchase computer workstation chair for home use?

At £100 any chair you buy isn’t going to be brilliant so anywhere really. Ikea, Argos etc.
If you need to sit on this chair for long periods of time I’d seriously consider budgeting for a better chair.0 -
Thanks for all the comments. It's going to be a long term chair and will be used for a fair amount of time at home. Around 10 to 15 hours a week. I'll see what I can get for under £100 at the above suggested places but if I wanted to check out something more "professional" with a higher price tag, where would I go for that?
I'll be looking to buy locally to Northampton. I think the Staples store that used to be there has probably closed down as Google Maps doesn't show it. Annoyingly, Staples website doesn't allow you to find local stores either.0 -
I've bought a couple like that now. First one was like new, and I had several years use out of it.I would recommend a second-hand office furniture supplier would be a good place to buy a good chair. You will be able to sit in the chair, check that all the adjustments work, and potentially be able to return it if you don't get on with it. If you think you might want to return it, check whether the supplier will allow this.
If you want the chair for long-term use, but a professional model.
Second one a year ago, is one of these.

Like new again, after a dust and polish. Paid £125
Might be a bit more than you want to pay but well worth it.
The full retail on them is £500 -£600. They are much better quality then the hundred quid ones.0 -
I thought staples went online only, not all the stores shut they became office outlet or something similar.0

This ^^
If your sub £100 you're just going to get a generic run of the mill chair thats either going to fall apart or not support your body etc. I work in IT and id estimate I spend 60+ hours a week at my desk either in work or at home, and a quality chair is worth its weight in gold. My "home" chair (probably 15-20 hours a week of use) is a "cheaper" model but to be fair, does ok, I wouldnt want to push much more thatn 20 hours in it though, and even that is nearly double you budget, have a look here:

Try Office World Outlet - that is what my local Staples is now. And they have chairs to try - although they drew the line at dodgem chairs!0

Just to add, if you cannot afford to budget £500 or so on a chair, I'd definitely echo the advice about looking at second hand chairs or office outlets.
My current chair, due to be replaced, is a Herman Miller Aeron - starting from around £900 new - that I picked up nearly 10 years ago for £180 from an office sale for a company that had gone bust. I'm planning to replace it probably with a Mirra 2, but haven't made a final decision yet.0 -
I don't know if it has all the features you want but I highly recommend this chair. I've been using it for years

All good advice above . However , I put on a huge amount of weight.
I have ordered one from lockwood Hume £63 something .
Expecting delivery tues/Weds . Self assembly . If you want other features the price goes up. Argos seem fine .
I got my last chair from Homebase . Best to go in store and see what grabs you . They are normally cheap as chips and durable.
Only selling mine on Ebay as it’s too big for flat .0 -
I'm not sure what has happened to Staples but a couple of the stores have changed to Office Outlet (brand rename or part of a process for them to liquidise stock). Anyway, they had a workstation chair offer with up to 50% off (which carries on until end of tomorrow). Perfect timing for me so I ended up buying 4 chairs. One for myself and 3 for the rest of the family. Worth checking out if you need something.0
