I phoned Tesco Bank and spoke to a customer service agent who was baffled by this.

Here's a photo of the CD and the envelope, it's got a Royal Mail postage sticker on. Can the sender be traced by the code on it?

Is there any sender address on the back of the envelope often banks don’t put the name on the back but can be identified by a postal address registered.

One thought, it could even be an audio recording of a letter intended for a visually impaired customer as sone banks have agreements with organisations to convert them to audio cd, especially as Tesco are currently writing to all account holders with t&c changes for their accounts

  • Is it possibly a letter provided in audio format?

    No, no sender address.

Don't know what's on the CD and it certainly does not look like a Tesco product.

No, not for me anyway. And that number on the front has nothing to do with me and my accounts. The Tesco agent confirmed that it was nothing to do with them.

That suggests that any person on the phone typically knows what's going on.

I'll be honest its not uncommon for banks to send CDs of a similar type between branches.
    Saw them loads.
TBH that looks like a special order letter for someone who is visually impaired or the likes.
It would be too much for me. I would (admitadly I have them) putting them in one of my old spare PCs to see its contents.
