If the POC were backdated and you kept the envelope that proved they were not posted when dated, PLEASE NOW forward the complaint you made to the CCBC, to another email address.

We need LOTS of these to fly into a specific inbox now:

Once that has been done, please confirm. We need to bombard the CCBC (specifically to Amanda Beck who is aware of this scam) with evidence about CEL.

Do this - even if you've already emailed a complaint - PLEASE forward it now!

I had made the court aware that I will be abroad for 2-3 months. I am now back in UK, my hearing date is within next two months.

CEL have to pay a "trial fee" within next few days...

They have also sent their witness statement and offer of 50% reduction to settle this claim !!

What's my deadline to file witness statement -- the court papers seem to imply these need to be served at least two weeks before the hearing. I am thinking to send this off as soon as CEL have paid trial fee - £25.00

Any other comments / advice welcome -- I am going read up latest posts to glean latest updates on CEL.

"the court papers seem to imply..."

Don't the court papers specifically state that you must send to the court everything you intend to rely on at least 14 days before the date of the hearing?

That is definitely a little stronger that an 'implication' in my mind.
I would call it an instruction. The court call it an 'order'.

Yes, all documents including any witness statement needs to delivered to other party and the court office "no later than fourteen days days before the hearing" - it gives me couple of weeks to read up these threads.

I was hoping that this case wouldn't go to a hearing .... there is still a chance CEL won't pay the £25 trial fee??

What's the update on most recent CEL cases -- does anyone have links I can read up.

    Thanks

They never pay the hearing fee and they ALWAYS now send this letter, you should have been expecting this:
They have also sent their witness statement and offer of 50% reduction to settle this claim !!

ok, the deadline for the £25 trial fee is this week. I will ring up the court after couple days to check if it's been paid.

Hopefully, CEL claim will be struck out or I will be spending a few hours over the weekend looking at typical witness statements that I could customise.

I should allow time for postal delivery ( documents need to be delivered 14-days before hearing date)

I telephoned the county court - the trial fee has not been paid. Although the deadline for the trial fee has now passed, the court has a backlog and they asked me to check next week to see if this case has been struck off.

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas.
