Over 70, worldwide, 121 days cruise insurance - where from!

We need this insurance for a round the world cruise. The only one via the cruise company is a huge amount.

Can anyone recommend a company that fulfils ALL these? It's the length of the cruise that most don't cover.

Thanks in advance

  • When I last did a long cruise, only 42 nights though I simply rang my existing annual travel insurance provider and explained that I wanted to be away longer than their 28 days maximum etc.

I think I ended up paying £40 extra for both me and the good lady.

Out of curiosity who are you taking the cruise with? we are thinking of one in 2019
  • I think the 121 days is the issue. Many go to 45 days but a 6x extension too long!

    Cruise and Maritime.

Insurance must be availabe as the ship will be full of people and i believe that the cruise co check that you have insurance cover before letting you board.

Yes, available via them for an extortionate amount. Looking for other suggestions.

    World Nomads?

Staysure offer cover for older travellers but the time may be an issue.

How much was the cruise co quote? Any existing conditions?

No idea if they can help but look at Explorer Travel Insurance. They are reasonable for annual no idea what they're like for a single trip of that length

Possibly also Saga travel insurance- but guess that will be sky high

yes, you will not be allowed on cruise without the insurance and the emergency health contact number

The phrase you are looking for is Longstay insurance, but I dont know about the age limit.

That quote doesn't surprise me. Combining age + long stay + cruise + non EU + high cancellation cover, with the exception of illness you've got every high cost element going.

Is it the £20K cruise from Tilbury? If so, that's not bad value.
