Breakfast on Eurostar?

Options
Pre-Xmas treat planned! We'll be leaving home very early, train to St. Pancras and connect with Eurostar.
DH thinks we shouldn't rely on getting breakfast, and should take sandwiches! Somehow that doesn't quite strike the note I was hoping for(we usually have camping holidays and this is supposed to be a luxury)!
So dear MSEers - have any of you had a Eurostar breakfast? Was it nice, and did you have to queue for ages, and were you comfortable?

Many thanks!

I once visited the on-board coffee shop, and saw a rather depressing and over-priced collection of pastries, with instant coffee to wash it down. Of course, decent meals are served in business class...

If travelling in economy, buy before you board or wait until you reach the Gare du Nord, where prices are reasonable and quality is high.

If you have time the Premier Inn by Kings Cross does a English breakfast buffet from 0630.

Which class are you travelling in? Standard comes with nothing, Standard Premier has light meals (totally acceptable for a short train journey), and Business Premier has proper meals (after lounge access too).

Often the Standard Premier doesn’t cost a huge amount more than Standard, and you do get a bigger seat too.

Otherwise there’s a Costa in the departure area after check in.

We're just travelling standard, but I assumed we could buy some decent refreshment. I'm afraid I'm so old that I still expect there to be a proper British Rail breakfast available!
Thank you all so much, gives me a much better idea.

We took a fancy picnic to have on board. So instead of just sandwiches, why not make yourself croissants or bagels stuffed with cream cheese and smoked salmon, some exotic fruits with a thick yogurt and wash it down with Bucks Fizz?

Or have the full English before you get on board or go to M&S Food and buy whatever you fancy if that's more to your preference.

Definitely don't settle for a few HM sandwiches!;)

    'Proper' British rail breakfast?

It's terribleness was the staple of British comics for decades.

Maman, good idea, and bigadaj: all I can say is, did you ever have one?
I don't recall comics mocking BR breakfasts (BR, but not its breakfasts). And even if they did, I remember them very fondly!

Actually, breakfast in BR restaurant cars was pretty good. What wasn't so good was the stuff served from the counter in the buffet cars. Having said that, the toasted sandwiches were OK

I also thought tea in the afternoon used to be good too - I remember fondly toasted teacakes.
