my partner and i work for DHL as a home delivery courier and you wouldn't belive the amount of problems we have with many parcels. The worst ones are the country lanes where not one house has a door number they all have names and the lane is 3 miles long. another problem we have is incorrect addresses, some will say MRS SMITH, LONGTON ROAD. no number at all. If at all possible, when ordering items add a phone number as they are so much easier to find people.

Its no fun to us when we cant find you (wasting petrol/time/patience whilst driving around trying to find you oh and we dont get paid for delivery till its delivered) and its no fun for you waiting for your delivery then finding its gone elsewhere

    hey Iday77,

As per my previous post, it is doubtful that you will have any comeback, your supplier is protected by the clause in the distance selling regs, if you don't have the offer of a refund in writing then it's very doubtful that you have a leg to stand on.

Oh dear why is it that some people on here just want to have a pop!!!!??

FYI Missile, I run a graphic design business who also supplies the printed goods, I don't charge an extra fee for the print I just charge for the design and what I have paid for the print + delivery, which I get printed locally as a rule but on this occassion decided to get them done through an online company.

These printed goods actually didn't turn up until the following Tuesday (and not before 9am on the Staurday as promised) I had to supply them to the customer at 50% discount as they were so late - which deosn't cover anywhere near what I paid for them!! The company I bought the print from said they would give me a refund but are now denying all knowledge of this conversation. Lesson learned - won't be buying online in future. Do I have any comeback?

I was not having a pop. It was not clear that you charged for the added value of your service and I interpreted it as you were simply advertising stuff to sell on for a mark up.

It will be difficult to claim for consequential loss due to your sub-contrator's late delivery. Do they have a guarantee in their published t&c? You could try a small claim, but this is probably a waste of time and money.

I would put it down to experience. It takes time and money to develop a network of reliable sub-contractors.
