I live around the corner from Optegra and went as a private patient, however after a qote of £7000 ish I tried optimax whom was £1000 cheaper for the lens replacement op.
I’m very undecided what to do.0 -
NHS waiting lists vary so much throughout the country. I had mine done as privately as an NHS patient this time last year, there was no wait at all. Another patient being operated on the same day as me, was diagnosed on the Monday, operated on Friday.0

Worth bearing in mind unless you have multifocal implants you will need to wear reading spectacles afterwards.
In my experince even if you do have multifoacl implants most people still need readers on occasions they work similar to multifocal contact lenses.
Also the calculation of the lens power is more difficult on thoose who have had LASER work done0 -

This. If you're going for a cataract assessment in the private or nhs sector call whoever did your laser and ask for your notes from the laser surgery, particularly any biometry readings and the pre-op refraction.
If you can't get this for whatever reason make sure you tell whoever is doing your pre-op that you've had refractive surgery as you will need a different work up.0 -
Hi
In a similar situation in that I am getting three quotes for lens replacement.
Optimax are the the one left, already had Vision Express and Optegra, within
£200 of each other at £7000.00. So no price rigging going on there then!
Have you made a decision yet?0 -

I know that price depends on prescription required but has anyone had replacement surgery recently that might be able to give me an idea how prices have changed in 8 years.
Laser surgery is no use for me, my eyes are too bad
Sadly, not everyone is suitable for laser eye surgery, Surgeons have a legal obligation to tell patients about the risks and alternative treatments prior to surgery so that patients can decide to undergo treatment or not, this is called informed consent. I honestly wonder if risks are downplayed and other treatment options withheld - where surgery is concerned caution should always be exercised.0 -
A Contact Lens, Or Simply Contact, Is A Thin Lens Placed Directly On The Surface Of The Eye. Contact Lenses Are Considered Medical Devices And Can Be Worn To Correct Vision, Or For Cosmetic Or Therapeutic Reasons Contact Lenses Provide Better Peripheral Vision As Compared To Spectacles.
I had my Lens replacement surgery From Bharti Eye Hospital at Reasonable Price.-2 -
