I had this after I was involved in an accident which was actually my fault. They get there info from various sources, including people involved in recovering and repairing the vehicles involved.

I blocked all the numbers used by these parasites from both my land line and mobile. It took a while but I no longer get them. Had the same problem with people offering me "free" maintenance checks on my solar panels.

I get 1 a week and never been in an accident.

They all spam whoever's number they have managed to buy and law of averages say someone has been in an accident in the last 5 years so the hit rate is high.

I still blame my phone provider for selling my details as the land line number has never been in use as it's a broadband only line and yet a day after it's up and running I get sales calls to both the landline and my mobile which they also had on record.

I get these all the time. They get information from everyone - every time I use a comparison site within weeks I'm inundated with calls. I know that Moneysupermarket and compaerthemarket have passed the details on because I always put a spelling mistake in the name and they always use that name when they address me on the phone

Only way to stop it is to block the number

5 years ago i got rear ended.

    5 years of persistent calls,
once i said yes just to see how it panned out.

I was told to lie to the solicitor and say i was still suffering pain.
Got put through to the solicitor and said.. The lady said i should tell you i am in pain, solicitor asked was i still in pain? I said no, but the lady said i had to say it.

    Boy was that solicitor angry.

Still get the calls, i keep blocking them.
