Morocco Travel Money - Advice Please

Going to Morocco ( Marrakesh) for Christmas and looking for the best way to access money while I am there. I understand I can’t take the local currency into or out of the country so will have to exchange cash or withdraw funds while I am there?
Bit nervous as I have only visited Europe & the USA and used Travellers Chqs.
Currently I have a Bank Of Scotland Visa Debit and Master Card. Not looking to use any credit while I am away so can preload a card if this an option.
Any advice I would be terribly grateful

ATM there don't charge a fee, so a no-fee card is the way to go.
If you are not of the Smartphone generation; https://uk.virginmoney.com/virgin/current-account/essential-current-account.jsp A £1.50 ATM withdrawal fee abroad, but full Mastercard exchange rate.0 -
I went to Marrakesh last November.
There is a free ATM at the airport, after passport control & luggage pickup, just before you leave. I used that to take out cash.
I also recommend Starling Bank - it's my go-to foreign fee free spend debit card!0 -
You can take up to 2000 dirhams in and out of Morocco.

If you knew me in person I would sell you 2000 dirhams, but you don't so I won't. And if you don't know what you're doing then it doesn't make sense to buy your currency in the UK.
Just bring some relatively new £20 or £50 Bank of England notes and exchange them in the city or follow the other suggestions regarding cards you can use to withdraw cash.0 -
A little off topic re currency but take a pen to fill in the visa form when you arrive. They don't supply them at the airport so there is a lot of begging that one person who has one to borrow and make a longer wait.0
