Royal Mail - Proof of posting

Grumps

Hi all.
I know that there has been a previous thread on this subject - which is now closed, but, the question I am asking is, "Does the Proof of Posting" indicate the actual Postage amount paid?
The reason that I am asking is that I Volunteer for an organisation and may have to send 'samples' [of springs] to a potential supplier. Hence a degree of 'bulk' involved within the packaging.
If the Postage paid is shown (on the Proof of Posting), then I can claim it back as 'expenses'. If it isn't, then it will mean a trip to 'Admin', some miles away, for them to enter the item into the Postal system.
Thanks.

Just ask for a cash receipt in the post office. Or use a courier, it will probably be cheaper, it will be tracked and you can print out an invoice. https://www.parcel2go.com is a good place to start if you have measurements and weight of parcel.0

Yes - it shows the number (or name) of the building + postcode, the amount paid and the type of postage used (1st/2nd class).0 -

The proof of posting that I get from the Post Office only have all this information on if the item is "signed for". I'm looking at a proof of posting (non-signed for) and it's only got the postcode and house number on. It doesn't mention type of postage or cost of postage. I'd have to ask for a receipt as well to get evidence of the postage cost .0 -
There are actually two types of PoP, one which has address/price/service
and one which is address only.
The solution is to ask for a cash receipt, or use a self service machine: asking it for a PoP will generate a double sided receipt with everything on.0 -
The POP my PO gives me always shows the postcode and price.0

I get all the necessary information on non-signed for items, so as others have said, looks like you just need to ask for proof of posting + a receipt to ensure you will definitely have what you need.0 -
I get the price for a parcel where it shows the long code which acts as a proof of delivery. For large letters there is no code and the proof of posting does not show the cost of the stamp. It's simplest to ask for a cash receipt as mentioned.0

Why is there so much variation?
Surely all POs should be the same.
OP best to ask what your post office does, yours may be like mine and give you all the information on one receipt.0
