car insurance

Hi all after some advice ,my car is insured with Adrian Flux and underwritten by Trinity Lane .I was recently involved in a car accident and my car was written off i was contacted with a settlement figure which i was happy with so supplied them with all the paper work requested to proceed with my claim, decided to ring them after a few days to see how long my cheque would be to be told 28% was being deducted of my final figure because i hadn't informed them of 2 SP30 speeding fine and was told that was the percentage my car insurance would of risen if i had informed them ,to say i was shock is an understatement ,i did genuinely forgot to tell then and could understand their would be a sort fall in my premium but surly the 28% should of been calculated on my original premium not on the value of my car .28% of the value of my car was over £600 If it was calculated on my premium it would of been around £100 quite a big difference is this a case for the onbudsman or is this the norm ...

I would suggest asking on the actual Insurance board upstairs or ask the BG to move this thread up there.0
