Credit card eligibility checker - beware!

My OH tried the CC eligibility checker just out of curiosity. It won't leave any imprint on your credit profile, it said.

So how come he now has a search from Capital One recorded on his profile on the day he used the checker???

Comments

  • Because it's a soft search that is not seen by anyone apart from him.

    That is how come.

    Hi Jack06019,

zx81 is right, this is a soft search so lenders can't see you've made these. Soft searches are useful as it allows you to track any searches that have been made in your name.

    I hope that helps explain.
