BL...I had floaters in my eyes for years...Like little worms.......Never had flashing lights...The floaters have now gone...Either that or my eyesight is so bad I don't see them anymore...:o

Google told me your brain adjusts and doesn't see them any more.

That explains it....I think my brain has given up and left an empty space in my head...:rotfl:

I had this in 2002 . It probably wont go away and the floaters just mean the vitreous in your eye is breaking down and the flashing lights mean the retina is being pulled. Mine led to a burst blood vessel in the eye and I was told it would resolve itself but a week later my retina detached. However my sight is quite good now after an operation. Take care and try not to lift anything too heavy as it can put a strain on your eyes. PM me if you are at all worried or have a question

Thanks - glad it got sorted Rose.

Yeah its the flashing lights that really worry me. I know they can do wonders now but my dad had detached retiinas after an accident at 17 and went completely blind so I have a real thing about eyes :(

OK - now armed with tea so this is Eldest sons Christmas wish list - I know you lot like a challenge.
Its also Eldest sons birthday on the 17th so something from this lot has to be suitable to give him when we next see them, the weekend before Christmas (small enough to go in a case as they are flying out of Manchester)
    No set budget

"some gym equipment for Home, dumb bells, sit up machine roller thing for the floor" - ignoring this.
They live in a little cottage and gym equipment will only get in the way unless its small things that will fit under the bed neatly. Besides they are not home much to even use it.

"an exp spa soon pack for “cards against humanity- we have 2 expansions already".
Does anyone speak x box and if so can they translate - makes no sense to me

"A spa day would be nice" - very expensive so I am also ignoring this. Besides they live in east Anglia and its a long drive to anywhere and they barely have spare weekends.

"meal for both of us" - I wonder if Groupon has anything but mostly they restrict things to weekdays.

"a decent set of Allan keys" - this one I can do. I know there are mechanics on the group or mechanic partners on the group has anyone got any suggestions - heavy duty ones as he works on big army vehicles and man trucks.

" language lessons at a college near me" - again I am ignoring this, very expensive and they are both away with work a lot so I doubt if he would ever be able to complete even a full term.

"any sort of gin" - got this one :T

"descent electric toothbrush" - he says he wants one with changeable heads so they can share. I am thinking though it might be better to get 2 electric brushes, less expensive ones but still a good brand so they have one each. They both work away a lot so I don't see how sharing a brush would work.
Might be a good one to give them to put in the case so they have something to open on Christmas day (or rather Christmas Eve as that is their Christmas day)

And I've still got the pan set and knife set on the list from November so I have made no progress apart from getting a bottle of gin - hopeless I am

  • I noticed yesterday that a few places are starting to reduce Xmas decorations.....

    Asda have started too...

    Worth keeping an eye open....

Sometimes you really know who your friends are!! :rotfl:

    Why better with a GP?
If its just flashes and floaters its something many people "enjoy" and your GP will put your mind at rest, if you lose any sight then your GP will be next to useless.
If you had an upset tummy you "might" visit your GP, if you were vomiting copious amounts of blood you would go to A&E, probably, maybe.

    Another question pretty please.

Eldest son has finally sent over his Christmas wish list - it is tortous
I need tea and porridge before I even start thinking about it.

One thing he has asked for is a set of allen keys - he works on army vehicles and big man trucks so it needs to be a good quality set.

I know there are a few mechnics and partners of mechanics on the Elite so please can anyone help with suggestions and links pretty please. I am clueless.
He says they are only £10 which I dont belive, nothing is just £10.

mhoc....You're right.....for a good set of Allen Keys....I would look at Wera, Bondhus or Proxxon...Or for a cheaper set...Maybe Bahco or Park(which I think are Bondhus made)

    Hope this helps a little...:)
