Savvy i am in Northamptonshire, no snow here yet, just freezing, although we are forecast some for tomorrow
That is exactly what I meant. The route may involve trying to travel through Northamptonshire in the early hours of Monday. You would have to come farther west from there to get to Rochdale, through areas where all the snow is and that will have more tomorrow. A large part of Central England is forecast snow for most, if not all, of the day that ends only hours before the journey is proposed to be begun. Even rush hour Monday will be difficult from that - travelling a few hours before then, it's not going to have shifted and it will be ice.
Despite me suggesting I never trust their forecasts, on this occasion I do - look at this here:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2641430?day=1
Currently showing Northampton, snow all day (which they define until right through to 5am Monday - and it continues on Monday morning showing snow at least two hours after that)!0 -

Might be of use to someone. Went to John Lewis today to get the usual Calvin kleins and posh socks. Really pleased to get to checkout and find that they are price matching against Debenhams today and 20% came off the total price. Just checked on website and still showing if anyone needs men gifts:DTo do is to be. Rousseau

Evening all!
I hope all is well and everyone is keeping warm. Be careful on the roads and don't travel unless you actually have to.
DD, I'd recommend the q-park at Brindley place https://www.q-park.co.uk/parking/birmingham/q-park-brindleyplace I think it'll be a tenner if you're there for the evening, so not cheap, but it fits the other criteria. There can be a bit of a queue to pay when you leave if you don't pre-pay online, but it's a safe option, only 3 mins walk to the arena and gives you easy access to the bars and restaurants by the canal.
It snowed here properly for the first time in 3 years yesterday and overnight. Even though it was probably only a cm or two, it looked so pretty this morning!More forecast tomorrow, just wishing I had a sledge! :rotfl: DH isn't a fan, but hopefully I'll be able to persuade him to go for a walk in the fresh air, there's nothing like a crisp winter walk to clear the cobwebs away
(can you tell I'm a country girl at heart...)
Finally had Christmas present lists from family members this afternoon and found myself volunteered to be personal shopper/Chief Elf on behalf of my dad. I don't mind, but it would have been good to have a bit more notice! So that threw me into a bit of a panic as my mum can be very hard to please as she has very particular tastes, but hopefully Amazon and paperchase and Marks and Spencer will save me :T
DH's dad is going for a major op on Monday so that's going to throw everything up in the air for at least two to three weeks. Christmas is definitely going to be a bit different this year. We're just going to have to try and make the most of it, but it feels weird already. I usually look forward to it for months but this time I'm just not feeling it.0
