Totally agree TM. In the old days children paid 50p to charity for a non uniform day and just wore 'normal' clothes.

The Christmas jumper/dress thing is the same, wear it once and then what?

Talking of Xmas jumpers I wore a red one last night under the red blanket thing I have on on my avatar lol. No one knew . I bought it from a charity shop recently for £2 :) and it's an Asda George one brand new. Saw another one exactly the same in another charity shop same day and their s was £4.99

Went with my sister to a talk on the history of Wrexham and it was about people in the First World War who joined up and were killed from the local area. Some only 19 very sad.

    Good Morning all :)

    Morning all!

Says online printouts won't be accepted in the Ts and Cs. How rigidly the SAs will stick to that is anybody's guess.

I'm feeling grumpy tonight over Children in Need. The front of A is littered with big yellow Children in Need T Shirts and paraphenalia. Most will be worn for a day and end up in landfill. Some children will be upset as some parents may not be able to afford the stuff. Valuable resources are being wasted.

Can we simply not just donate to Children in Need without all this waste?

I don't do Children in Need Still recall when it was publicised about the huge fee some of the presenters got for front the showing or just doing their job. I had assumed that they donated their services Again an assumption but the did not seem skint while kids were donating pocket money and their time willingly and for free

oops bit of a rant there

No PDE or £ on confused for me :(

I think confused.com may be a little confused! Nothing coming up on that one for me either. I am most annoyed not to be getting my 25th PDE :rotfl: :rotfl:

There was a young girl just on Radio 2 who is shaving her hair off for CiN and even Chris Evans said that the adults need to step up because its the kids making all the effort

OK, this is ridiculous. It seems they actually have to tell people that you can buy individual items cheaper than a gift set, and then they went and spent £1 on a gift bag

Just as well everyone is not an Elite I just flicked through on catch up and thought the same

£10 off when you spend £40 at Lidl in todays metro. Page 44 on the online version.

I picked up the paper version on the bus this morning and there is no Lidl voucher. However, there is a £5 off £30 in Iceland, on page 20. Might be useful for someone :)

I think if you cancel there's a £10 admin. fee, so it wouldn't be available on a low value ticket of £1.20 (would end up costing more - therefore cancellation not available according to their website) so, , like me:o, you just have to book again, second time the right train, and pay twice as much for the points:(. Hoping that the first train was 'only' £1.20. So, for me, I did end up paying twice as much for the train but in the end still be getting points worth more back.

I've now got the right train time for the 1000pts offer in time for yesterday but I think I messed it up again and had to book twice - I put an incorrect security code for my debit card due to not being able to read one of the digits correctly but then went through to a screen for separate approval from my bank - despite the fact I ended up with a screen saying the payment had been approved, I think I neglected to go through to the final booking screen so it seems it didn't actually book. I hope so anyway - so, somewhere there is a payment authorised that I hope will not now be taken. I did not get any booking confirmation email almost straight away, went through the process again, this time with the correct security code, and then went through the approval screen and finished the booking off it seems correctly this time. I got a booking confirmation email and it looks like just once, so hopefully I have rescued the matter and will only be charged once this time. Last time was twice - once for an incorrect operator train (I was trying to get it done quickly and over with otherwise it will never be done at all). As of yesterday, the available balance in my bank account (which accounts for debit card payments that have not yet been taken) reflected just one payment of £1.20. I hope it has remained that way, although I can't see straight off as I've bought other things with my debit card since that are unrelated.

If they have a similar, but not the same, offer again; if I try it again, with any luck I will get it third time right.

I've had my virgin points added but not LNER so maybe I boobed as well savvy:o
