:eek: I cant believe you are thinking of using one of those machines, and paying the commision. It grieves me when I see people using them, and more often than not, the people using them can little afford loosing money (can anyone?). Just take it to the bank, or do you not have a shop/pub you use often, where they know you? Ask them if they want some change as they have to pay for it sometimes.

My bank will only accept 5 bags of change a day. With bags full of coppers in a bells bottle it would take a fortnight to get banked. Last lot of coppers I had I gave to my friend who was going to Blackpool and she gave them to her kids to use in the amusements.

Sometimes it's more hassle than it's worth to trek to the bank

In the depths of winter when we were snowed in I made myself a £2 Christmas tree.

I know HSBC (at least the one near us) has a coin counter that puts it into your account (have to be with them or FD though) and I have seen one in a Nat West too, might be worth checking if your bank has one? I think tbose machines charnge something lime 12%, the ones in the bank are free.

Haha great minds! They also had one reduced from (allegedly) £75 to £37.50 morphy richards comfigrip. Don’t know if that’s really worth £75 but I bet not on offer in double up.

You beat me to it ! The bank machines are great, just empty the lot in and it does the rest x
