I could have tried another store for the tuna but I was lucky with whoopsies so just went straight home, sorry no picture as Mr TS took over putting it all away when I got in.
He wanted to make sure I wasn't hiding anything away.:rotfl:
A nice turkey breast joint for £1.50 and some finest goose fat roasties 38p.
Among other things there was lots of soft fruit, mushrooms, flavoured chicken for sandwiches, cream cakes...I had a trolley full for just over a tenner. :money:0 -
I've no problem identifying the crisps. (Actually, with the price comparisons earlier of course, I thought sometimes it was easier for me - although I did buy the wrong item on a few occasions, usually when it was something I wasn't familiar with - because I was (and continually am) so pedantic. Pedantic I think now though ought not to be seen as necessarily in a bad sense.)
So, anyway, no problem with knowing what crisps to buy. But sometimes I do have problems that arise from similar issues - this now leads on to a post that has been in the queue but, finally:D, is now here (starts below, at "I've just got rid of...").
It's when words are not used consistently throughout. I have no problem with baked = baked or same word on the coupon as the product packaging or SEL instore (goodness help me if there is a conflict between a word on the SEL and the packaging:rotfl: - normally I'm able to work it out though, although possibly not as quickly as everyone else to whom it would be obvious - but only because half the time they're probably picking up the wrong thing and the SEL and stock really are different - they don't see the tiny difference in words that makes that clear (to me!). I'm alright with things like 6x25g = same thing as 125g, never had problems with that as that's obviously the same thing).
My problem is when even a slight different word is used to describe the same thing and then I am confused and wondering whether or not it is the same.
I've just got rid of some stuff the other day - turned out to be all of a ten minute job - and needed to take it to recycling. When I got there, I asked where it went and was told "Mixed waste" and pointed to the right area. I looked in front of me - it says "Recyclable waste" there, not "Mixed waste" - is that the same thing? I then had to ask a second person whether indeed it was right that I needed to put my items in there.
They told me yes. I still had my doubts about whether they were telling me right, not sure, because, I thought, well your other colleague told me it was "mixed" waste, where is that? I put the items into the recyclable waste nonetheless, still having my doubt. Well, sometimes, as we know, staff of places don't know what the right answer is or don't know the procedures as we know better than they do. Then it finally clicked on me that the other colleague was simply using "mixed waste" to describe a mix of recyclable waste. Nonetheless - still confused me when I saw "recyclable" written on the large signage as that was not what the person said. If only they had just stuck to the same word and said "recyclable waste" when that is what it says on the signage and then I wouldn't have had any problem. So, all it was was a few seconds of delay whilst I had to ask a second person (unnecessary if the first had been clearer to me - I'm just so pedantic aren't I?:rotfl:) and then me walking up, still in a bit of doubt after I didn't know whether to trust Colleague 2's answer of "Yes, here", and putting my waste items where I now think clearly they should have gone so were right.
That's where the confusion in communication lies though - I'm like "it's not mixed, it says recyclable" and they are like "well you are so nitpicking and pedantic!". "I'm not - it's not the same thing!" It isn't - it's a different bloody word:rotfl:. Actually, I didn't say any of that - I just thought "it's not mixed, it's recyclable - is it still the right place?" and then had to ask a second person the same question as I had already asked, as the first failed to give an answer exactly consistent to the sign, and even then I didn't feel clear with the second response.
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
(Again, if they'd said "mixed" as they did, and the sign said "mixed", as it did not, that would have been no problem either.)
It's everywhere - autism. Or at least it is for me. Afterwards it is funny though (after I've had my time wasted for 20 seconds:mad::rotfl:). I love my pedantry:rotfl::rotfl:. Or at least, it's funny later because I know why it exists.
20 seconds - I will never get that back! Or the two hours explaining on this thread:rotfl::rotfl:.0 -
On oooo2 this weeks Nero offer is buy a toastini and get one free so after we had been to Sainsburys and Marks this morning that's where we went.
Some of the toastini s are £4.95 but others - mozzarella/tomato and chicken/bacon are £3.95 so we got these 2.
Also 2 large hot chocolates with cream.
I had a couple of free drink cards which they sent me when we had poor service (this Neros is fabulous so it was a total one off situation) so I used these.
Then a bill of about £14  was whittled down to £3.95 and I used a gift card to pay
Also got a couple of loyalty stamps which I value at a notional 30p each as we got hot chocolate for £3.15 - just need another one now for a full card.
(not sure what the issue was but my 00002 qpR code for the toastini would not scan but she put the numbers into the till and even that didnt work - she fixed it anyway. Something to bear in mind - ask the service if your choice will work firstly)
Anyway £3.95 for two hot chocolates and 2 toastinis were very warming on a bitterly cold Saturday morning and we had a nice chat with eldest child while we were there.
Much nicer breakfast than spending £4 on a couple of Greggs breakfast meal deals -actually OH seems to think its now £2.20 rather than £2 but I suppose it depends in where you are in the country.
Too much to hope this crostini deal will be running the weekend we are in Southampton next. Or when we visit Eldest child.
Just wondering if Sainsburys sell Neros gift cards and if they would trigger a swipe and win bonus till spit ...“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

Again only the brine scanned at £1.
We get through loads and I know I will regret not buying more.

Glad you were lucky curl girl
We get through loads too. In fact I actually bought 2 packs of the ones with the one extra free for £3.50 each in the week.
It was the shop I made up to £40 to use my £6 conditional spend, so I'm trying to think I got the 2 packs for £1 to make myself feel better.
Maybe I should have gone further tonight...0 -

These are back in stock, unfortunately, I cant get to a store to collect, or I would have a couple of these.
Can we buy vouchers this time round for points?
