Sainsburys petrol fail, managed 2 x 10 fills on a pump, went inside and paid no nectar voucher - appear they don't do them at local petrol stations
This has made me wonder if this is partially my fault, because I did answer a question you asked earlier but failed to make it clear in my answer that it was participating petrol stations only. However, no-one mentioned about which petrol station(s) you were planning to use and the issue therefore didn't arise. I assumed (see - yet again, no-one should ever make an assumption) that it was obvious that it only covered petrol stations that were participating and that people would read the terms and conditions in advance, even though it's very clear that people generally almost never read terms and conditions. I would have thought users of this thread wouldn't have been caught by such a thing.
EDIT: Additionally, having now seen other replies, yes, it has been posted earlier which stations are covered so I thought people would already be aware and this was a further reason why I didn't mention anything. (I know this sounds like shifting the blame and me putting the responsibility onto everyone else again:rotfl:. I'm sorry, I don't mean to do that, it's just a truthful explanation as to why it didn't even occur to me:o to mention participating stations only. And, of course, I'm not an advertiser, so, unlike advertisers, I am not bound by Advertising Standards Authority rules to make significant limitations on an offer clear - my fifth justification:o. To be fair to Sains., they do make the information available.) Sorry you lost out:(.
I thought I had a fail - in that I paid and lost. I'm no good at persuading cashiers and, it seems, no good at having any sensory persuasion of any machines alongside them that choose to dispense coupons. I'm not connected to people and not connected to the machine objects either:(:rotfl:. The machines only wanted to give me 200 points:( and I lost what I would have got had I been more lucky. I got a double points coupon(:() after my first purchase and used it on the next fill - seems I am obviously spending too much with them if their system thinks I'm only worth a coupon of a few pence in double points:(. Those double points coupons are obviously aimed at tipping the balance and getting people to shop with them next time (and spend what they might not have done and put pressure on having to buy sooner due to the time-limit on the coupons) - it looks good for something that, in my view, is almost worthless as it amounts to only a few pence (especially if, in our interests, we spend only the lower amounts that we should).
Nonetheless, better than nothing so I used it on the next fill.
Just a final thing: if I was denying responsibility in the way most people it seems to me often do, I think I would have ignored your post and not replied to it at all and wouldn't have been so honest as to say that 'maybe some of it was my fault'. We all make the final decisions as to what to purchase, or not purchase, for ourselves nonetheless - and I've done similar things myself but we should all be reminded: check more carefully before we buy. So much work to do that I know:mad: (frustrates me as well as you).0 -
I managed to get some honest kids from Tesco, there was a girl promoting it, also 7 boxes of magnums, love 'em. No tuna...boo
:j to me.....5000 points at sainsbobs, which was promptly spent on some ink, but at least free.
So I have had 1 x 5000, 2 x 1000, 5 x 500 and 3 x 200. Approx £52.:beer:0
