Yeah I've had all that sort of thing before as well, and I don't think I've ever ordered an item of furniture online and had it arrive in the right amount of pieces and damage-free. Parcels are often left behind or in our green bin, thankfully we live in a relatively safe area. I've also had one card state 'parcel left in thorn bush' which made me realise I really needed to get to work in the front garden :rotfl:

There are companies out there working on solutions which should help to resolve some of the issues. For example, in Germany a lot of homes have secure DHL delivery boxes out the front, with key codes that drivers can use to drop off parcels if the recipient isn't in. That would be good here, and it would help to avoid the frustrating 'you weren't home' cards, providing they could guarantee its security.

Yes in the states the mail box is in the street and has a parcel section shared between a few houses but that would fill up very quickly this time if year. DD has amazon secure boxes at work now which is a great idea.

I agree happy the drivers don't get paid much but as a perfectionist I do think minimum pay or not job should be done properly. Royal mail pay better and charge the earth so no excuse there.

regarding an Amazon delivery. Yesterday I was clearing leaves in my tiny front garden & no one from DPD walked into my garden & knocked on my door & then left an invisible 'Sorry we missed you' card...
I go in later & check my emails to see one from Amazon/DPD saying sorry you were out but we left a card ????:mad::mad:
Anyway I replied to Amazon as I'm not calling DPD with their expensive phone number (no others on Saynoto0870) stating DPD were telling lies.
Anyway lovely reply with a goodwill credit & Prime extension & they checked that the missed you scan was not anywhere near me :)

My mum's neighbour has had that many amazon parcels gone missing/not arrived and given amazon prime extensions as a goodwill that he has it till approx the year 2035. :rotfl:
On a serious note these companies are so busy trying to compete for business with low delivery prices that customer service is going out of the window. The customer and courier (quite often self employed) are suffering as consequence to this.:(

Evening Elite  I didn't get to that funeral this morning. Had to rush to batchroom to be sick first thing, then after my shower about 8am, the same, sick again. So I messaged to say I wasn't coming and went back to bed. I brought home the remains of a pan of soup from the show on Saturday and I think I ate it last night possibly one day too late after it was made. Rest has been disposed of :(

Any way, I was OK when I got up later, and I've eaten lightly since then
