It is strange how different councils process different waste - we have bins for general, recycling (limited lietvof plastics
) and garden waste (no food). Family elsewhere also have bins for food waste into garden waste and separate glass, but are not allowed to put plastic bags in the recycle bin.
If they recycled everything that could be, by combining all the different "allowed" items from across the different councils, there would be very little going to landfill :A.

I am never usually in supermarkets on a Sunday afternoon but I was today and it was very successful. As we entered Ts a voice on the tanoid said there were offers at the front of the store with 85% off . I got a 15kg of Harrington dog biscuits for £3.60 and three packs of cirio tomatoes for 40p each only unfortunately the wrong bar code scanned and I was charged £6.
I didn't realise this until we were on our way As were there were loads of wholemeal loaves for 18p, so on the way home back into Ts and you've got to love a well trained member of staff. She needs to learn to smile more and ungrit her teeth as she says because it was our mistake I will give you double the difference so £9.60 back. Which makes today's boot full of shopping almost free.0 -

Morning all.
Attempted credit card fraud on my account last night.
A few calls to sort it, card cancelled, then remembered in the night that my car insurance was due to be taken from the same card this weekend.
So, loads more calls........
Stressed out!
youngest son has had 2 automated calls today from Nationwide fraud department. He had to select the date of birth and it then gave a list of the last half dozen card usages - I cant get hold of him today, he has gone off grid - I've left 3 messages for him to ring Nationwide ASAP. I am assuming that its his credit card but he has been using it very minimally for the last couple of months.
There are 2 payments for £49.99 and a few others including one for £1 odd ... Possibly the first was a test purchase.
Anyway the card is blocked for now
Friend had hers done in the week. The first payment was over £400 for Next but that was blocked. The next was similar but it got through.
The bank said they could see the IP address was different to mornal and the orders had been done on an ipad ????? Anyway fraudulent payments stopped and all sorted
It does seem to be very commonplace“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

If we wanted a garden waste bin we would have to pay about £70 for the bin and then a little over £30 a year. Then they sell the compost. So you pay for the container, pay for it to be taken away, and then buy it back.
I do not participate, I have an enormous compost bin that provides us with enough compost each year, and I know precisely what is in that compost (including a family of mice)
Apart from that we have general waste and recycling, with a separate tub for glass, and it is general one week and recycling/glass the next. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Don't you have a garden waste bin for collection, or a compost bin ...
.

That's it:rotfl:
When it's full it gets dragged down the field and put onto the big compost heap:D
You are right DM. Think it's about £30 if you buy into the scheme.
While we are on the subject of waste etc, i was in A earlier and spotted the new After Eight Christmas gift.
It's a long tin and inside are 2 boxes of After eights.
Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't that mean that those little slithers of chocolate are in a little envelope, which is inside a box with a little correlated lid. They are all packed inside a cardboard box which is covered with cellophane. The cellophane is now ensconced in a metal tin.
What the hell are they?

And cjj......I was most excited about the avocados. I haven't had any for a while. I've quickly put the rasps in the freezer in case you nick them:rotfl:
A bit excited about the turkey mince too. I need a good meatball recipe.:think::think:To do is to be. Rousseau
