  • I got an email from my gas and electricity supplier yesterday telling me that they're putting my rates up by 7.4% from next month :-(. I've just checked the comparison sites and they're still coming out as the cheapest so I guess I can't complain too much!

No way they'll compare Anon, offer only started today.

I know nothing. Therefore it's buy in M! Shame for the people who have no M near them as there is greater coverage of GB by A and people would normally have waited a few days on them that we now don't have. Will have to wait for now expensive A on them to introduce even lower prices. Anyway they are still expensive on M's offer as my guide price is £1:rotfl::rotfl:. Will stop them acting as tempters as they are things people don't need.

In fact I've looked at some on a.com and they are £1.75 in A, so not too bad on A's price if you only want one (pay 50p more than M's 4). M are only cheaper on the mbuy price. Or wait till after Christmas and buy on reduction. I have some Wine Gums cartons from earlier in the year (bought from A at £1 each) that are BB November - I'm sure a month won't make too much difference if I wanted to have them last. Like the unseasonal person I no doubt am, I have removed almost all Christmas items from the M list, leaving only a few that are last year's pack sizes that might potentially appear in lower pack size this year but technically last year's item is a different item and might stay at RTC price - we may hope - but I doubt they will exist now anywhere in M. Otherwise I have noticed Christmas items go up in price, on the final collection or the week before, from the RTC price of the rest of the year. McVities Family Circle 670g, gone from £2 RTC up to £3. Swizzels Super Sours, gone back up to full price. Another item has crept up and then crept up again. Even the 2 for £5 offer on pouches of a month or so ago - has changed to 3 for £10 so the items have effectively gone up very significantly in price. Really it is the worst time to be buying these items:rotfl:. When everyone wants them.

May I remind people that there are some 500g Liquorice Allsorts (not branded as Bassetts but seem much the same to me) regularly in Poundstretcher, Heron Foods and other places at £1. We should be waiting until the start of next year for 75p and then 50p RTC (when not even me could find stock last time) on Jelly Babies. I also saw that Heron Foods had, a few weeks ago, cartons of Sport Mix at straight £1.50. I didn't buy any - no longer tempted - they now seem hugely expensive in the light of 50p RTC from M out of season:rotfl:.

It's a good time for retailers (some of them anyway). They can price items more expensively, at what is the most important time of the year for them. And then have people paying for them in quadruple. Maybe an offer that only requires two will come on at T? The stores do tend to some extent to compete on these items and perhaps A will now join that when it no longer has a PG. Not that it has competed before by having an APG offering that itself said "We'll beat the competition". It didn't stop them competing - they could just price items on the shelf or purchased online more expensively and have most people shopping with them obtain them at those prices and have to claim the money back through the APG, which many people did not. Now... they'll probably find most people that shop with them still shop with them and overpay on some things:wall:, whilst a few may shop elsewhere. It may not disadvantage A, no longer having to undercut them for a few people through the APG, which still costs them money, but may help other stores as people buy from those - although they may been at lower prices anyway to tempt people into the store and if on other types of items maybe, that are loss leaders that we would be comparing A to, and obviously A making slightly more of a loss, it may disadvantage competitors very slightly if we buy the loss leader from them and don't get tempted by anything else whilst there. I suspect it won't matter very greatly as few people shop like this and, if the retailer did make a loss, the loss leader would be very quickly pulled and wouldn't remain at that price. The other thing is A was bettering offers at competitors for which A was getting no money whilst the offer at the competitor may have been funded, or partly funded, by the manufacturer in return for good placement of the products in the competitor store.

It was mentioned on mse a week ago. Last time I checked they were cheaper than going elsewhere even without the warm home discount. My gas is elsewhere on a fix ending end movement, that is also going to be painful :(
    I think....

I thought the points were added for correctly doing the "activities" quizes etc.Like the nespresso one with questions like

How can you order In store ........... Online ........... All of the above :)
    How many plans 10......... 6 :) ......2
How can you recycle the capsules drop off......... Home collection ......... all the above :)
  • Just had a google ;) That enter a code thingy, may be just for infrequent users who may have been sent it, I haven't been sent one, but do have the code message.

We need to see if there's any glitches on. What's the travel minis thing? The baby food jars should still be available, if there are any good comparisons picked up, on 12 for... offer buying 11 the same. Last day, presumably before 9pm (to give enough time to check the receipt before midnight. It might last until 1am, as the system is on GMT, but I wouldn't want to rely on it doing so - can't guarantee the site will not itself disappear at 12 midnight). But I remember, if items, even if they work out cheap but do not work out at better than free, are not items that I really need (such as shower gel/deos), then I would still end up with less value of vouchers to spend than I currently have. So I am best just waiting and spending my current vouchers in the next month on what for most people is normal shopping. That part of which is best in A:rotfl: - that may be a challenge.

Are there any good new offers in T (or S)? That usually start on a Tuesday, that might, just might, be picked up.

EDIT: Just had a look - fortunately the msm Savvy Buys is back (disappeared for me entirely a few days ago), although it doesn't pick up everything - seems nothing good in T - in fact it seems they now have fewer good offers on that the last few weeks - before which there was also next to nothing - only item I have I have already bought from A, so I will stay at home - I usually stop at £1 when the items are then too expensive:rotfl:. Pots of Joy in Sains.? What tempters. Nah, still too expensive:rotfl:. We can live without tempting items like these. Even at £2.50 vs 75p (look away!), I would still end up with vouchers worth less to spend during the month than I currently have. Besides, being just a single item on better than normal offer at S, I would still have to buy 7 more items from A and would pay more than the 7.5p (assuming I was buying one) in 10% on those, hoping that it picked up a Sains. offer relatively early (unless this has been running for weeks and weeks in S having passed me by). Unless anyone has any glitches, that have not already been found and posted about, I shall have a day off today and join you tomorrow when I calculate my total voucher spend, work out what's going where, and start some perhaps pointless to a degree M list updating. Maybe somewhat pointless as now last week, but effectively, as I mentioned before, a list of upcoming expiry dates for M (the items that have expiry dates are those that were found online - if anyone wants to keep track of them later) and items some of which may remain cheaper in M and, after today, buy in M unless anywhere else becomes same price:wall: or better. Same price - might be best in A for now, as spending remaining vouchers although we will be losing 10% every time we buy them. It will make A seem more expensive. Certainly more expensive than it may currently be, unless it immediately reduces their shelf price (assuming that shelf price to be correct:rotfl:) - or increases the price but fails to change it in our store:rotfl::rotfl:. Actually my A - which is usually very good on shelf price changing - seems to have got a few where it has done the opposite - sadly no good at all - where it has kept up labels for higher prices when the items have gone down. They scan at lower than shelf price now of course but no good as that is the price we are expecting anyway.

Thanks, I need these to add to birthday gifts.
M sent me a booklet of vouchers yesterday.
£3 off 30 spend plus a free pack of donuts, £1.50 off a market product and a best product.
Will have to investigate as I don't go in Morrisons very often.

    Morningish peeps.

Some months they do specials with codes on social media. Other months nothing. I think that tile stays so they can send people codes occasionally.

2 more superdraw entries from quidco - that is £1.30 + 3 entries in total.
