The social worker will assess your mum's needs across a range of criteria to see if she meets the benchmark for a full assessment. Should this be the case, yes, do make sure you are included. (this is down to NHS nurse assessors, not social worker). Hard as it may seem you need to tell of her worst days, not her best!

Sounds like a good plan re care home.

Yes seems like we have a plan. Hubby went yesterday and she was sitting up in bed for 1st time in 4 weeks. Waiting to hear from social worker. Hubby and brother visiting homes tommorow.

hello im here, skim reading at the moment, but not much to skim today...
Im here in London looking after the boys, I went to Greenwich today to the maritime museum, on the bus by myself with the 2 boys, they thoroughly enjoyed it, theres an area just for little people to the left as you go in the entrance, fantastic playarea and role play, and its free :)
The boys were tucked up and sound asleep in bed an hour earlier than usual, nana wore them out, and DIL said oh that means they will be awake early in the morning- she cant understand that little people are up and about early in the morning, im afraid she doesn't realise you cant lie in bed til 7.15 then leave and go to work at 7.45..but she does

I am lucky that one of my granddaughters lives 3 miles away and I see her often ( although my daughter is beginning to think her Dad and I are her servants and should be at her beck and call a situation I am starting to deal with! ) but the other one lives in London and we only see her a few times a year! However just got hubby and I oap rail cards so 30% off trains ( paid with Tesco vouchers ) so when they move to Margate in November we will try to go at least once a month.

Sounds like you had a nice time. Talking about young mums my daughter has stopped her 2 year old sleeping in the day so that she sleeps 12 hours at night. Last night she went to bed at 7.00 and woke up at 8.40 this morning. So if we have her in the afternoon we are forbidden to let her sleep. But last week we took her out in the pram at 2.00pm and she fell asleep straightaway. She slept till 3.15 when I woke her but we did not tell Mum and funnily enough she slept 12 hours that night.
