Moving a compost heap in a heatwave must be the worst of gardening jobs:o
Can you not do just a bit of dead heading until it cools down:rotfl:
Someone else got the dead heading job
I'm the pond, rock garden, veg, lawn, bamboo, compost, walls and fences guy
Crikey, aren't screws expensive nowadays?
I'm glad I stocked up when they were reasonableFighting Recurring Cancer0 -
Bother! I missed the £50 bonus on setting up a savings account through Raisin .
It was on my list of things to do.

The linked page on gifting suggest regular gifts from income can avoid inheritance tax, I think I had better make my parents aware of thisI think....0 -

Another lovely day in store - unless the store is A
Even better, I have work to do :j I have two large open compost heaps ( the slatted wood type) and Mrs JTS says they are now an eyesore
So I'm to dismantle them, ( should be fun as they are full) and merge them into just one heap - nearer the corner - where it can be screened off
If Mrs JTS thinks they are an eyesore, tell her to move them lol

A loan is not a gift so not taxable as you are expecting it back, I would think. But if you charge interest on the loan the interest would be taxable income? If you made a personal loan and they never paid it back ... who would know apart from the two of you?

Wonder if this comes under the not paying tax on interest income

This gets more confusing the more one looks into it :eek:0 -

Apparently £3000 per year - even limits to gifts to family (you as the giver are potentially liable too depending who and how much!) as potentially avoiding inheritance tax

I will stop looking now and cross that bridge if we ever come to it.

You are right, I’ve had to give up - my wellies are melting
The argument was that we are going on holiday soon - but it can wait until we get back. I’m bound to need the exercise then to lose the holiday baggageFighting Recurring Cancer0
