    Speed of light vs speed of sound. Count from lightning strike 'til you hear thunder. Number of seconds = number of miles away ...at least that's what I remember.

    I agree. I didn't realise lightening is so local.

    1.Our village is having a scarecrow week in September. I'm thinking of doing Gareth Southgate or will he be out of fashion by then?

    2. It's horse week next week:eek: I'm pleased it's not this week. I don't know how they would cope with this thunder:eek:
